 | Forum Reply | Premier League Prize Money at 20:15 28 May 2025
Whatever the nuances of the points discussed above, the fact at heart remains that football is now primarily about money, not sport, and that's not going to change any time soon. The PL is very closed to being a closed shop now, and it will become ever more so. I wish the EFL would just breakaway from the EPL and be done with it. Start again. Make football primarily about sport, not money. [Post edited 28 May 20:15]

Agree with this. I want to say scrap the play offs, but this then prejudices the 'lesser' teams (particularly in the Championship, where the top 3 is pretty much nearly always likely to be clubs with the ridiculous parachute payments) |

This is exactly it. The same could be said of Brighton and Brentford. Owners who take a very much 'hands on' approach to running the club and are in the thick of it 24/7. The very opposite of our owners, in fact. The long and the short of it is, irrespective of finances, we're going nowhere (other than further downwards) with the current owners and their appalling decision making. |

There is always a choice. Nobody can force anybody else to do something. I'd rather be killed than be a soldier. I'm not fighting for anyone, particularly not those I trust the least (such as those in authority), unless I want to do so because I have made my own decision to do so on the facts and not on someone else's say so [Post edited 8 May 10:19]

"All soldiers on all sides are the victims" If there were no soldiers then there would be far fewer wars; therefore, I don't think they are victims really. They are, in fact, one of the causes (or, at the very least, enablers) of wars. Perhaps not years ago, when they didn't have any access to information and facts like we do now and so were taken advantage of by way of telling them they were doing it for their country and they didn't/couldn't know otherwise, but certainly in this day and age anyway. Not bad work though. If every manager was on, let's say, a 3-year contract, and they each got a new job within 4 months of getting sacked from the previous one, that would equate to 9 years' salary in 3 years. I'm sure many people wouldn't mind getting sacked regularly if it meant tripling their income!!! |

Well if you're right, and if they're reading this, I have this to say: Fcuk you you incompetent c**ts. Fcuk off somewhere else Nourry you useless pr1ck. Get the fcuk out of the club Rueben you incompetent fool, and take Hoos with you. You are running the club into the ground. You couldn't run a p1ss up in a brewery. I hope we start next season with anti Nourry, Hoos, Rueben protests. Fcuk all 3 of you. Need you all out of the club ASAP. [Post edited 27 Apr 21:34]

I'd also go so far as to say that, at a guess, circa 25% would rather not play at all provided they still get paid |
 | Forum Reply | Marti, stick or twist? at 22:08 18 Apr 2025
We could really, really, really do with Marti staying with us and seeing what he can do next season. Definitely a good manager getting the team to do better than the sum of its parts (particularly with all the injuries) |

Agreed. Zero interest in any football now, and never watch any football, other than QPR. |

An established PL team will never be relegated ever again. Football in this country needs the main 5 or 6 to fcuk off ASAP into a European league more now than ever. I'm largely done with football until that happens. |

I agree with this. Something doesn't smell right. I suspect that there is more to this than we are being told (and it doesn't involve players being injured). |

Dave and AKUTRs were mainstays of my teenage years from 1990 to 1994 and I always looked forward to a new issue being on sale. Whenever I get to a game these days I always I always buy AKUTRs if it's on sale. Get well soon Dave you QPR legend |

Nothing ever works well at QPR, be that on or off the pitch. We should all know that by now. What a farce that was 🤦♂️ |
 | Forum Reply | Oxford selling fast at 13:02 27 Mar 2025
Yep. They didn't even go on sale. Just appeared as sold out. What a load of BS. |
