Paper media will survive for archive purposes - papyrus documents written by the ancient Egyptians 2000 years ago and 1000 year old original copies of the Magna Carta were written on Vellum are readable to this day both without any special equipment. However, try getting media from five and a quarter inch floppy from just 30 odd years ago. It's near on impossible for your average user.
BTW, I read The Telegraph & the Guardian (both online only) as I don't wish to live in an echo chamber and like having my views challenged; I also subscribe to Private Eye which is far more informative than any of the papers.

No, but most people I know try and keep some cash on them for small purchaces & £15 is a small purchase. Also, why fumble round with my card when I can get a fiver change off the girl at the till that I needed to buy my lunch with anyway?
Just bought my ticket from the office for tonight during lunch i.e. now (I work 5mins walk from the stadium) - only ~6000 sold so far. In other ticketing news (the system was running slow, giving me time to chat) the loyalty point system isn't working properly yet; and a nod when I asked if this was the reason for the weird ticket windows based on specific games rather than points.
Plan Bs aren't easy to come by unless you've worked on the sports desk of a swisss investment bank where it's your full time job getting investors for sports bussiness. That's Cortese's background so I trust him if he says he has a plan B because he used to do that sort of thing all the time & he's not an idiot so knows contingencies are a good idea, even for thev best laid plans.
Sorry, misunderstood the previous post and thought he was saying some renewals were now being charged at the new ticket price so was pointing out that they should be. If new tickets are accedentally being charged at renewal prices, then you're right. Short of working out who's benifitted and then contacting them individually, there's not much the club can do. I suppose as it's now a smart-card system they could stop people at the turnstiles if they haven't paid the correct amount, but there's so many things that could go wrong if they tried to pull a stunt like that.
It's bad customer service training - the goon at the other end of the buzzer could probably (and should) have let them out. Even so, returning £1000 worth of season tickets for the sake of £1* - really? Cutting your nose off to spite your face.
IIRC After the 1st July renewals stopped and it's now new tickets only. This was made clear when the prices were released, but I can't be bothered to go and check now.
Many of our casual fans this season will be there to watch the opposition - get used to it. Of course they'll be there to watch ArsenalRangers; I've alraedy had people ask me if I can get tickets to high profile games as an ST holder. These people generally follow Saints results, but would much rather *watch* ArsenalManUChelsea etc.
I'm 29. I agree, the ground will be half empty, but it'd be half empty at £10 a ticket too.
All I'm saying the people willing to pay £10 are largely the same ones willing to pay £25 so by charging that the club is just maximising it's revenue. As for the quality of the football - as I said, I was paying around £25ticket for league 1 football - I don't think the quality will be worse than some of the dross I watched then.
Yes, but to the casual fan - i.e. not the type of people on this board - it's the brand that matters. All they'll hear is "Arsenal" and "Rangers" and won't know of the surrounding issues. We'll all be going to see Saints, as an ST holder, I've already been asked if I'll be able to get tickets to Arsenal, ManU etc. Modern Premiership football is now all about branding. Ask someone how much they'd pay to see Arsenal, Rangers & the Olympic flame on the same day from the same seat and I know more than a few who'd pay far more than £25.
