We have struggled in our last two games against sides near the bottom. Both saw how we performed in our three wins, fast transitions etc, and set up very deep, with the hope of scoring from a set piece. We need to work out ways to break down these sides if we want to progress. These teams have adapted to us, so can we adapt to them? I agree with JS, some poor decision making in the final third. Also, we need to be more productive from set pieces. I expect the Bristol City game to be different. They won't sit back and that will create space for us. Yes, it was dull. But I think we've entered the Championship class of 'teams to worry about ', which I guess is a compliment. |

My first post !! I was at the game. We struggled with their directness in the 1st half. They were only ever going to score from a set piece and we should have known that yet we switched off. Better from us in the 2nd half, but our forwards weren't on it either. A few good chances missed. Still, to get an away point at a ground we never do well at when we played like this... well, I'll take it. It's Championship football, no team can be on it for 90 mins, every game, especially away. It's how you respond to it that defines the best sides. Roll on the next game. I switch off at work all the time, I'm just not so exposed publicly for doing it. |
