Celar
at 12:04 25 Aug 2025

According to West London Sport 3 clubs are in for Celar, although no deal has been done.

The bidding must be on who QPR can pay more to get him out the door in a reverse bidding war.....

Coventry City 7 Queens Park Rangers 1 – Report
at 12:00 25 Aug 2025

A truly wonderful report.

My favorite quote from was a friend of mine who stuck it out until the end. The only reason was that his wife was from Coventry and she and her Mum were shopping and wouldn't get back to the Ricoh until 6pm for him to pick them up.

He just texted me with those beautiful words: "Well that was s**t". That was a beautiful summing-up of the absolute dross that I watched.

What went so wrong today?
at 18:12 23 Aug 2025

A whole host of errors. Walsh definitely at fault for the first one, but the biggest fault has to be the midfield. They walked the ball through it.
Morgan was absolutely atrocious today.

Just back - Watford reflections
at 22:54 16 Aug 2025

Some excellent thoughts.

1. Walsh wasn’t at fault for the second goal. Two players were converging on him and he had to hit it as hard as possible. They recycled it…2-0.
2. Madsen was poor and has been poor 70% of his QPR career.
3. Chair - for me - was our top player. Having said that, Chair is also responsible for a huge amount of corners that are predictably bad - and infuriating.
4. The red was a red. Glad our player didn’t sustain a big injury for that.
5. The ref tried to let the game flow, which managed to annoy us - particularly as we were down 2-0 and 2-1.
6. Attacking Celar is pointless. He did nothing because he didn’t have the time to.
7. Is Burrell another Armstrong??
8. Morrison and Mbengue should be the middle two at the back. Sorry, Steve.
9. Did Nourry not think of using his superpowers to try and get a bigger centre-mid?

A spare cricket ticket
at 13:03 8 Jul 2025

I have a spare ticket to the cricket at Lord's on Thursday.

The ticket will be free.

All I ask is that you're not a prick.

DM me if you want it, and we'll work out details of where to meet.

And no, I don't have two of them.

Boozer for Sunderland
at 20:27 30 Apr 2025

Dear all,

Does anyone know what pub people are going to prior to the game?

Am on own and could do with the company. I know people have said ‘The Spoons’, but that will cover a lot of ills…

Anyone going to Sunderland, we salute you !!

I’m driving from Hereford. Probs 6 hour drive. Leaving at 4.30 in the morning.

Or as I told the wife: ‘It's 259 miles to Sunderland, I got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and I’ll be wearing sunglasses’.

To which she replied: ‘You’ll look like a tosser’

The hightlight of the first half? One of our players hitting the ball into the back of the head of another of our players for an Oxford throw in. A friend wants to mention that their own highlight was an Oxford United player kicking the ball into his own nuts and it going out for a throw-in, but I was too busy moaning about the absolute dross on both sides to see it, I think.

Oh, and discussing what happened to Wang Computers (they were taken over by a Dutch IT company in 1992, but not before falling into bankruptcy (thanks, Wikiepdia) and Unipart (they are still an independent logistics company). And then seeing a bloke in what looked like a Norwich shirt and then talking about players of the past there like Lee Power, Ian Culverhouse, Jeremy Goss and Dale Gordon.

The highlights of the second half? Two goals by Sammy, Sammy Field, cheering the 3pts, and then leaving.

Finney.

I've known Finney for years on and off.

I heard the news too, and was honestly absolutely stunned. Said a prayer for him there and then.

Stay strong Paul. And if the person kicks the back of your seat constantly, there are a fair few tickets where we sit.

That was….terrible
at 00:52 14 Aug 2024

The second half, anyway.

We give the goal away in laughable fashion, and then do our very best to gift Cambridge an equaliser. If they had had a striker things might have been very different…but thankfully, it wasn’t to be.

Great to see Frey off his mark, because after Saturday’s startlingly inept performance, which included managing to kick over the ball from 2 yards out - it looked unlikely he would be in single figures by October.

One last thing: Has Jimmy Dunne’s haircut suddenly made him believe that he’s the Irish Roberto Carlos? Well, he isn’t. If he continues to play like we’ll get shredded by the, er, Blades.
