I’ll happily take a repeat of the 1-0 in 1992 when we (briefly) went top of the league, resulting in one of my favourite QPR tabloid headlines - ‘Gerry And The Pacemakers’
Oh, oh, oh, oh I got a love that keeps me waiting Oh, oh, oh I got a love that keeps me waiting He’s a Kone-y boy He’s a Kone-y boy I got a love that keeps me waiting
Great to hear everyone has had a brilliant experience. I went to Hammersmith in 94 with a few mates, all of whom liked the album and the Live Forever video. Sound was great, but we were all let down by the non-stage presence compared to all the other bands we’d seen.
A few years later at Glastonbury, a mate of mine was a huge fan and convinced me to go down the front. I left after 2 songs and went to see The Prodigy, who were brilliant. Sounds very much like they’ve improved - which I’m glad for the people who’ve seen them on this tour, but from personal experience, they’ve always been boring live
That’s a form of back slang - actual back slang is just words said backwards. My great Nan taught me it years ago - my great grandad used it on the markets in Hammersmith. Unless it’s particularly long words, I’m not far off fluent - but basically it’s useless cos no-one else understands!
Oh mate, so many left that day - unsurprising when you’re 4-0 down at half-time. I always use that, Port Vale and the Brentford 2-2 as examples to my daughter when she gets the urge to shuffle off!
No more goals but got an assist today. Finished top scorer in L1 - only player to score 20-plus - also top of the pile for goal contributions (26). Charlie v Clint in the playoff semi-finals.
One of the coldest - Newcastle away 2009, drew 1-1. Rangers fans dressed up like Scott of the Antarctic, while the Geordie blokes were in shirt-sleeves and the women in their underwear
Wettest, Port Vale away midweek many moons ago - and the 4-0 loss to Cardiff at HQ, just after we’d been dumped out the cup by Vauxhall Motors
