 | Forum Thread | Gary Neville Comments re Manchester Derby at 22:57 6 Apr 2025
"The game was so robotic and it's symptomatic of a lot of games that we're watching nowadays." "The best Man City and Man United teams would be very disappointed with the way they've approached the end of that game." "It looks like it's Sunday afternoon and they're going to go for a roast dinner together now." Being micromanaged within an inch of our lives, of not having any freedom to take a risk to go and try and win a football match, it's becoming a disease in the game." "Pep Guardiola and his teams over the last 10 years, that's what his teams do." "But we're seeing poor imitations of that across the board now. United's goalkeeper rolling his foot on the ball and waiting for things to happen. "That's not it, that's not what this club is, that's not what we do here. Liverpool don't do that." The game today really was quite depressing for me." "And the Premier League is about excitement, it's about thrill, it's about risk. And there was nothing like that in that game, so that's not good enough." Being honest I agree with a lot of what of he says. We saw a cracking game earlier between Fulham And Liverpool but that seems to be an exception rather then the rule. I know things evolve and change over time but I do wonder if other people agree with his points or If I've now reached the the point in life where I've just turned into my Dad and become an old fogey. |

Benda, Hamer and Fisher all struggled with Martin's insistence to play this type of game. You'd think that somewhere along the line, Martin would have realised that it was not them necessarily that were the problem. |

Good news if true. Definitely our worst chairman since Petty by some distance. |

Do you think Paul Watson did a good job here in recruiting and do you think Coleman was right to let him continue in the role last summer after the perceived failure of 2023? |

Bit like Paul Watson spaffing millions up against a wall and then being told by our chairman, don't worry about it , have another go this summer. Still Coleman does live in the area so that's all right then. |

No Keith. It should be us thanking you. Keep up the good work. |

Anyone else remember when Frank Burrows came back to the Vetch in the late nineties when he was Cardiff manager and he had a rapturous reception from the Swans fans sitting in the Centre Stand as he walked from the tunnel to the bench just before kick-off? Well deserved it was too. |

Bit of a blow for them. Good manager. Who's next for them I wonder. Steve Cooper? |

I'd replace Ronald. He has been really poor this season. |

That was one of most embarrassing results in Welsh football history. We couldn't beat a team mostly made of amateurs with a population less than Port Talbot. Can you blame fans for not being happy? |

As of now, 78 Tory MP's not standing at the election. Among them: John Redwood, Matt Hancock, Kwasi Kwarteng, Tracey Crouch, Nick Gibb, Chris Grayling, Ben Wallace, Greg Knight, Bill Cash, Dominic Raab, Graham Brady, George Eustice, Sajid Javid, Theresa May, Nadhim Zahawi, Andrea Leadsom, Michael Gove. Some big names in there. |

Agreed. A win tomorrow would see us effectively 3 games ahead of the teams in the relegation places with 4 to play. Easier said than done though given the way we've been playing. |
 | Forum Reply | 🔴 Rob Page to stay on for two more years at 22:36 28 Mar 2024
Given that Page had Jay Dasilva on the bench who's had a good season for Coventry I would thought he would have put him on at left back and move Williams over to right back or was that too simple to do? |

Agreed 100% Suppose I must be one those 'Planet Swans losers' for having that opinion. |
