If medvedev was in charge yes, but Putin just wants the eastern provinces, to destroy any threat from the Ukranian military, to de nazify the area , protect ethnic Russians and send a message to NATO. He has done that |

Putin is a moderate compared to his cabinet and especially Medvedev. They would have been in Kyev by now if he was in charge. There was a stat out a few days ago, showing the genocide in Gaza has killed 123 times more children than have been killed in the Ukrainian conflict. 0.3% in the Ukraine and 37% in Gaza It highlighted the difference between a war and pure genocide. Yet some on here and elsewhere will condemn Russia but not Israel. Absolutely disgraceful |

The war in that region was brutal. Often at close quarters and hand to hand British and Indian troops were getting a hiding until the 14th army was taken over by the Brilliant Bill Slim. He re organised, trained and brought in new tactics. This eventually led to the rout of 2 entire Jap armies, the biggest land defeat they suffered |
