Disappointing performance. Players not yet gelling in a new system and newish squad. After 8 years of Gareth ball that perhaps isnt surprising after just a few games. You can also see that Tuchal is trying a fewer players and systems out at this point testing what and who works and who isnt up to it. On basis of the last few games he probably now has a better idea of players who will not be progressing to the world cup squad (felt Walker might now be one of those) and those who might. One bright spark I felt was Eze who did unlock the opposition in each game he played in and tonight he had a full match. Created a lot, did things that no other player could. Worries me a bit that we dont seem to have anyone else currently available to cover for Keen if he gets injured. Clear too that Tuchal really doesnt fancy Toney having had him in the squad for this set of fixtures he only got 7 minutes and didnt look great. Watkins, injuries allowing, has probably got in the world cup squad without playing. |

If we can get close to £5M cash for Varane we definitely should take it. If it is £2-3M and the rest in add on's then it isn't worth it. We are a selling club. He is one of our most valuable assets. We didn't get to sell other players when their stock was high and that has hurt us financially. We frankly need the cash at this point. |

According to Extra Bladet, Danish newspaper this might have legs: Rasmus Bertelsen has really shown his worth as head coach in the season that just ended. The Randers boss thus led the Danish team to fourth place in the Super League - their best position in ten years. They have noticed that in London. According to Bold's information, Championship club QPR is showing great interest in the 41-year-old coach, who has held various roles at Randers FC since 2009. On paper, former AaB coach Marti Cifuentes is still head coach of the London club, but he is expected to soon be gone. Cifuentes was on compulsory leave earlier this year while in talks with an unnamed Championship club, and according to English media, the Spaniard has no future at QPR. Bold has been in contact with Rasmus Bertelsen, who has no comments on the specific question about QPR. Advertisement: However, he confirms, as he has done previously, that there is interest in him: - It is correct that there has been ongoing interest from various places, but I will not go into which clubs it concerns, he says. Several experts and fans have brought Bertelsen into play as a bid for a new AGF coach since the Aarhusians stopped working with Uwe Rösler. However, after Randers' match against Silkeborg on Sunday evening, he rejected a move to AGF, which he sees as a step backwards. - As I have said before, it really has to be something that is extremely attractive if I am going to move on from Randers now, said Rasmus Bertelsen, among others. Rasmus Bertelsen has three years left on his contract with Randers, so QPR must pay a transfer fee if they want the Danish coach to move to the other side of the North Sea. Two weeks ago, Tipsbladet reported that QPR were close to signing another Danish coach in the form of Johannes Hoff Thorup. However, the same media outlet later reported that the collaboration did not materialize. Rasmus Bertelsen has been in charge of Randers' first team for 98 matches. BUT.... big red warning markers over paying compensation... [Post edited 2 Jun 21:01]

I do wonder if European clubs are watching him. Given the purchase of Olise I am guessing they also track Eze as well. He certainly has totally gone up another level in the last half of the season with Palace this year. |

I guess that existing contracts run to end of June, so maybe quite a few still being finalised given we are also between managers. |

Business lounge at Miami airport with a work colleague. Both into our music and started waxing lyrical about getting back into some early punk, started praising one Iggy Pop in particular as being very good. My mate has been nodding to me at this point, then says well you can tell him yourself he is behind you. I turned he was standing behind me with a plate from the lounge buffet (it was pretty sub par to be honest). He smiled nodded and went back to his own seat. Really chill. I did my impression of a gold fish for about 5 minutes. |

Seems to be on fire today playing football. God I hope he sells this summer and goes somewhere worthy of him. |

I had it down for 4-0 to Sunderland. Really can't see anything positive given where we are behind the scenes, end of season long distance awayday and injuries and absences. |

I'm conflicted. I want to dislike him, but he did the Grenfell charity match amongst lots of other good things for other charities and causes. But of a pantomime villain. But he managed the scum up the road, so it makes me feel ill at the same time. |

I'd agree with that. Rashford doesnt seem to have same end product or incisiveness that Eze has. When Eze starts running at players you hear the crowd suddenly perk up as you know something potentially magical is about to happen through his speed, guile and vision. When Rashford runs he is good but the end product doesnt quite have the same quality. I think will be interesting to see what Tuchel takes from the game. He attended a few Palace games and had a chance to look at Eze, Guehi and others play. Pretty sure he rates Eze highly and seems like he understood and delivered what was asked for. Suspect Eze was a bit frustrated once the final set of substitutions happened as he was being fed the ball less and the pace slowed down. Instead Foden was given the ball more and ran down blind alleys and delivered poor corners and much more inconsistent crosses in the box. |

it was disappointing. Without Bellingham we are screwed. Foden isnt quite good enough under any England Manager in any position he has been tried in, but still gets a start ahead of everyone else. Dan Burn, good in parts but exposed for pace. Kane scores goals. Again without him we are also screwed. Walkers speed is still impressive. Rashford good in parts and joined up attack well, his pace again really helps. Bowen and Gordon didnt really improve things when they game on, but at least the former was trying hard to get engaged. Gordon looks to have been unlucky with injury but again not sure he was the answer for this game, reckon Eze was more likely to unlock things. May get his chance next match by the look of it. For all of the talent and initial intensity/pressure we did seem to slow down too much in second half. |
