The QPR summer transfer rumours thread
at 15:30 25 Jul 2025

Kelman hadn't done anything for us in his previous, very limited appearances. He had an outstanding season in L1 last year.

As a selling club, there probably isn't a better time to cash in. And, I'm guessing that is what the club plan to do. Of course, if he ends up at another Championship club and tears it up, we are going to look very foolish.

If he does go, then we need to get the best fee we can, e.g. more than Dykes or Armstrong. And we also need to protect ourselves with a sizeable sell-on?

It appears that a deal for Ba from Schalke is virtually done and we are still interested in Nkada from Ligue 2 Rodez and Tovide from Colchester. Either/both could be a Kelman replacement.

Didn't he get an updated contract before going on loan to Orient?

Bloody hell, Wombat. Please don't spread your positive message after 6 losses on the bounce.

Can anybody guess what our starting XI for PNE will be. Maybe Saturday will provide some more clues, but ATM, it's a mystery. It's not helped by a set of injuries on a par with last season.

I've read most of his summaries and it's clear that he is very knowledgable. I don't agree with all of his predictions, but most seem a reasonable bet.
QPR seem to be 1 of the teams whose prospects are difficult to predict. We could be worse than 18th but, if the new signings and the balance prove to be better we could see an improvement on last season's 15th.

We know Frey has been injured, Kolli being managed and Lloyd likely to go on loan. But that doesn't explain the absences of Celar and Kelman.

Ozzy Osbourne RIP

Judging by the fact that he was on a throne for most of the concert, he was probably very ill when he did it. Apparently he always used to bounce around the stage and joke with Iommi during earlier gigs.

It sounds like he was much more down to earth than the "Prince of Darkness" tag.

RIP Ozzy

Saito

Last seasons squad was unbalanced with too many midgets as attacking midfield. We still have Chair , Smyth, Dembele. Vale and Sutton aren't giants. So where would Saito fit in - even if he is affordable.

Varane - Essential we keep this man !!

Seriously?
If fit, he gets in ahead of Field. And if we play 4-2-3-1, there are no credible alternatives to those 2 in the current squad.

Are We Going Toulouse? Match Thread
at 15:01 16 Jul 2025

Having got thumped by a Spanish La Liga 2 side, we are taking on a side that finished 10th in French Ligue 1. We may play a team a little closer to our Championship starting XI, but I'm not expecting much.
For those going, remember it's not being played in Toulouse nor Perpignan itself, but Canet-en-Rousillon, which is close to the latter.
Sorry I can't be with the few hardy souls.

Colback will be 36 this season. The DCMs will be Field and Varane, but we do need a backup. It's not clear from the rest of the squad, if anybody could cover that position. Would Jack be prepared to settle for being 3rd choice. And he was rumoured to be 1 of the highest earners. So the offer is accept being 3rd choice for 2 places AND take a huge wage cut. Say 1/3 of what you were on last year.

As for Fox, is he happy to compete with Akindileni for 5th choice CB?

I'm not convinced that we'll be signing anybody else, unless there is a deal too good to ignore.
LB will be Larkeche or Esquerdinha. Larkeche has just come back from a decent loan at Dundee, so should be given a chance. I don't think many fans are convinced about him defensively.
DCM - Field and Varane should be shoe-ins. Is there any real back up or do we need to move someone from their ideal position.
ST - I agree Lloyd should get a loan. I'd settle for 2 strikers getting 12 each.

The next move should see players leaving. Permanently or on loan. Fox, Colback probably gone already, although no announcement to date. Santos and EDB likely to move on.
