that would be a massive gamble, and also pointless given the length of contracts (1-2 years). dont think the Ogdens would sanction such a gamble. |

I see we are advertising for a new physio. nothing wrong in that, but the salary of £37,ooo PA. i was looking through the programme of the last home game of the season, and was surprised at the number of listed employees. add on to their salaries to that of playing staff and manager begs the question ( to me, anyway) where is all the dosh coming from on average attedance of 2,500-ish.
I'm not business minded, so can someone please enlighten me.

The only problem with someone of his height would be...his height. remember peter Crouch? how many goals did he get chalked off because he outmuscled defenders but adjudged to have fouled them. it would be interesting to see his stats regarding disallowed goals. |

As we all know, RAFC only report DONE deals, and are not interested in rumours. however, this 'leak' could well trigger other interest in the striker, further muddying the water: if in fact we are interested.
the phrase 'stalking horse' comes to mind.  |

re: platt lane. did we not end the season at FC of manchester, if so how did the facilities at PL really help us. as for the 'wealth, and purse strings'. the Ogdens are operating on a self-sustainable model- lets not forget that they are a charity and not like oldhams millionaire 'saviour', and have therefore already started the ball rolling.
its upto the town to increase the revenue and therefore 'clout' of the club. and if i may go back to the thugs down the road, the weekend's i paper had a very interesting page on their chairman, including mention of a £5 million 'grant' as part of the levelling up that was supposed to be nationwide.
one last thing- the bbc have a snip of their chairman singing. WTF? if anyone looked more like his bottle-wielding 'fans' I don't know who it is.

KER-CHING! and thats it in a nutshell. perhaps that's Bj's formula; score a goal then sit back sitting on a lead. of course it falls flat if we go behind or can't score. it reminds me a bit of KH's philosophy, when he was dead against shooting from outside the box: as he reckoned that as most goals were scored from inside the box, it made sense to get the ball in. |

Really can't see BJ giving Hendo enough games to get 15 goals. wish he could, but a lot depends on acquiring a 'very' good striker. |
