I think he is now at the stage where any imposter syndrome has worn off. It looks to me like he is really hitting his straps now. Good shout whoever said he could replace KDB at Man City. I think he could. Whether that would be a wise move for him is another matter. I think Tottenham should break the bank to get him. And Glasner as well. |

Billie Jean King on a BA 747 just after Wimbledon going back to NY (3 rows behind me in business class). The entire Italy Rugby squad on their way back from a Rugby World Cup in Australia)I boarded in Singapore). That’s about it. |
 | Forum Reply | Cifuentes placed on garden leave as reign that promised so much unravels at 15:38 30 Apr 2025
Well, we have said many times about players that if they don’t want to be here then they should be removed from the building. We now have a situation where the manager doesn’t want to be in the building. Not exactly unprecedented, but the way the issue has come up is dreadful. Someone is playing Billy Big Boll*cks and it’s not clear who. This doesn’t reflect well on either Nourry or Cifuentes. And how can this be allowed to happen just when season tickets are being renewed. It’s asking a lot to collect several hundred pounds from people without saying who the manager (and,it seems, many of the players) is /are going to be. I assume there is a list of possible replacements for Cifuentes. But if JT is on that list I will be spending more time in the garden. |

Agree on Glenn Roeder. I sat in the stand for the away game at Watford in the 1986 cup run. The entire Newcastle team were in the row behind me. GR was right behind me with John Bailey and Peter Beardsley on either side of him. All were up for a chat at half time. They cheered John Byrne’s goal as well. |

Super Ray Wilkins. Always gave us a good shout out when doing punditry on the much missed Football Italia. |

My uncle bought me a pint of Youngs Ordinary in that pub behind Selhurst Park. I would have been around 14. Schooldays in Hammersmith meant it was mostly London Pride after that. |

I had Cardiff,Luton and Plymouth going down. Leeds top, Sheffield Utd second and then Burnley, Sunderland, Coventry and WBA in the playoffs. We finish 15th. I’d love to see Stoke go down but I have them drawing with Derby on the last day. That could be a real squeaky bum time, that one. |

Yes, great video, really enjoyed it. Not a lot of people realise that Acton is the only suburb of London to have train/tube stations for all four Primary compass points (plus Town, Central and Main Line for good measure). |

We turned Bridgerton off after 20 minutes. Have never seen an East Enders or Corrie episode all the way through. Got bored with Casualty after Brenda Fricker left. |
 | Forum Reply | Alright you bird lovers? at 16:55 9 Mar 2025
My brother in law made 6 nesting boxes for us a couple of years ago. I out them up round and about. I have cleaned out the used nests each year but have not done the boiling water thing. All have been occupied every year. Our wood pigeons eat everything we put out on the ground but are the weediest birds ever. They fly off at a moments notice. The pheasants don’t care though. They just carry on eating. There is a family of woodpeckers that use the feeder mounted on a pole (the wood pigeons can’t reach it). Also chaffinches, great tits, blue tits, various finches etc. |

For me the biggest change was Youngs moving the brewing away from Wandsworth. It’s never been the same since. |

Am I the only Latymerian on here? HQ floodlights visible from the playing field (corner of Wood Lane and Du Cane Road. We used to get sent for a run round Wormwood Scrubs when the rain made the pitches unplayable. |
 | Forum Reply | Trump v Zelensky at 08:16 1 Mar 2025
Watched it ‘as live’. It seems to be winding up and then Trump said ‘one last question’. Vance piled in and it all went pear shaped. Vance is the real danger man here. While Trump just riffs away and can almost be led to the right answer (Starmer did this rather well, actually) Vance has an agenda and it isn’t pretty. Moreover, he is still relatively young. He could be on the political scene for decades. That is truly frightening. Europe needs to get its act together really fast. US isolationism in the 1920’s and 1930’s enable the rise of the militaristic dictatorship in Japan and the fascists in Europe which led to WW2. Now it is Trump and Vance who seem to want WW3. I |

I liked The Colbys because Katharine Ross was in it. Never seen an episode of East Enders all the way through. |

Yes, what a great goal it was. My only time in Upton Park. I seem to recall that Brooking played us off the pitch in the first half. The second half was a different story. |

Venables. That is a good call. Organiser, motivator, free kick artist, visionary. A football genius. Or Super Ray Wilkins. |
