Mid 2000s, I think, Swansea are putting in one of those 'lucky to get nil' performances in the fizzy pop Cup, and we are coasting, Kenny Jackett had always been popular at QPR, so with as much sympathy as irony, we begin 'ole'-ing every time Swansea manage a successful pass. Bored and frustrated Swansea fans catch on and start to return the gesture for the rather more competent Hoops interplay. These cup games are rarely well-attended, but two sets of fans lustily cheering on each others' teams is certainly something you don't see every day.... Can anyone else confirm my recollection...? |

Wigan RUFC is on Haigh Estate, which is owned by Wigan Council. To be fair, Haigh is the country estate of stately Haigh Hall, and not the sort of place you might happen across a flat-roofed pub (I miss that thread). |

I think it is fairly common for an employment contract to specify no entitlement to bonuses, payrises etc that would paid during or beyond a notice period/departure. If yours doesn't, you'd still be arguing over, say, a sixth of perhaps 3% = 0.5%, which may well be in suck it up territory (unless you're on a thick wedge or they've really hacked you off, in which case I spend time on a forum where the prevailing advice is to poo through their letterbox and move on...). |

Mine has also just landed, after a month, and two days after phoning to chase. They blamed the club shop for not sending them enough stock to dispatch orders, and presumably also disabling their email system so they were unable to reply to complaints or issue delivery updates... They (Ultrasport Europe) did seem like nice folks though, so it would be mean to carp; all's well that ends well. |

This goes less well at cricket. Inch-perfect throw back to Peter Ramage, in the days when he was a terrible full-back, not a half decent centre-half. |

Having been a little negative on the club shop thread, I'm delighted to report that not only is the ticket exchange working (thanks Big_mac), but actually selling tickets! Well, mine, at least. Credit to the Box Office for a welcome reverse ferret on a cheapjack policy, with a big shout out for Irish_Hoops and everyone else who wrote in highlighting this. This board has power! |

sent two emails, one a stock query and one because the shirt actually going out of stock left my number, name and patch in the basket and cannot now be deleted (I know, tried cookies etc, still there). Not a peep, alas. Also still waiting on my order from 07 Aug, which is yet to be marked 'dispatched', let alone arrive - about to write to them again, so updates to follow... |

Had the pleasure of shaking his hand a little while ago, reminiscing about his hat-trick v Everton (92? 93?). A man very much in the ravens and Tower of London category for many us, I'm sure; I hope he manages to catch all the goodwill messages. |

Quick bump for this - room for one or two more, all welcome. |

I have renewed this league for the forthcoming season - if you were previously enrolled, you need do nothing (except create your team); for new contenders, this is the join code: jucq2m All welcome, no additional rules, Chelsea players permitted but frowned upon as always. I will again be putting up a first (well, only) prize of an AoF T-shirt to the winner (hold on, better check how much these bleedin' things cost now. Wow, that much, oh well, let's do it anyhow). Good luck to everyone - my own ambitions extend very little beyond 'best QPR-based punning team name if your surname happens to be 'King''. May I have this sticky please Clive, if not in the way of your fab (how do you get time to do these??) previews. |

Just to add, with much displeasure, having spoken to the (excellent) Box Office team, you will not even be able to list your ticket until a match is sold out. I'd say that pretty much kills the idea of selling-on tickets at all stone-dead, unless you want to keep checking on the off-chance a game sells out, list your ticket at midnight on Friday when (ahem) it does, and hope someone drunk-purchases it before 10.00am Sat morning. I've noted to the team that this is pretty shoddy for ST holders with no other choices, poor for buyers, who will be seated in block X Row Z rather than my lovely end-of-row in S, bad for atmosphere in general with voids in the core home supporters areas, and will certainly mean fewer ST sales next term. |

2004/5 Binatone and 2010/11 Gulfair, we also wore blue shorts with the hoops - away, and very occasionally, I think - someone must have the same vague 'I remember blue, you're not my daughter, have I had my tea' recollection as I do... |
 | Forum Reply | season ticket resell at 23:26 30 Jul 2025
The point is that ST seats are non-transferable and the club has, each season, imposed tighter restrictions on mechanisms for reselling. Now I can't officially sell my seat to someone else, I can't even give it away (in fact, legally I don't actually 'own' it at all) - I can't think of any other ticket or purchase that behaves like this. |

"one good Rumarn, there's only one good Rumarn" Originally coined for Antonio, wasn't it, and then briefly tried out for Polter? |
 | Forum Reply | New 3rd Shirt… at 17:07 26 Jul 2025
Okay, you size gurus: every Errea shirt I've bought (and eek - that is a lot) has been XL, which seems to be 42/43in with a loose fit (although the last DtM was particularly generous; three pickleball sessions a week - must be working). Suddenly though, the new green kit is saying XL = 46in. £73 is an expensive mistake if they have genuinely resized, so anyone bought one and can advise please? I'm a standard Large in adidas/nike etc. Ta! |
