Judges and European Democracy
at 22:19 8 Sep 2025

Perhaps we should have a another vote on Welsh Devolution. The first referendum won by the Natioinlist by a tiny majority, was 25 years ago.

Perhaps it is time to give the Welsh voters another say on failure by 25 years of labour misrule in the Senedd.

I suspect most people in Wales can't wait to give their verdict in May.

French Government on verge of collapse
at 22:13 8 Sep 2025

Unfortunately France's problems stem from a faltering economy which is symptomatic of the whole undemocratic EU which promotes protectionism and stifles growth.
France's is higher than the UK as a proportion of GDP. This despite the fact that the CAP was designed to protect inefficient French farmers.

Incorrect she was voted as Deputy leader of the Labour Party by the Unions.
The Unions have no power to elect anyone as Deputy PM. The appointment of cabinet members is done by the PM of the Day.

When in opposition Starmer did try sack her as deputy Leader of the labour party but was stopped by the Unions.

All a bit academic now as she has reigned from both. Wonder if she will be prosecuted for tax evasion.

Looks like Raynor lied. She claim she was given the tax advice by the firm handling the conveyancing.

They say they used the information provided by Raynor to calculate the stamp duty due. They also say they do not provide tax advice.

Wonder who we should believe. The tax evaders or trusted family firm woth a good reputation.

Good transfer window.

Just a pity the window for buying season tickets ended on 31st of August. Why not a week after the transfer deadline closes. An opportunity to sell more missed.

Nigel's cunning plan

Unfortunately most the people who have upped sticks and moved illegally to the UK can't afford to support themselves. The UK tax payers is expected to give them free accommodation, free health care, free education and free food as well.

Unfortunately the chance of peace was lost many years when Yassar Arafat turned down the proposal for the creation of the state of Palestine because it meant that he would have to recognise the state of Israel .

Scyld Berry - The Last Cricket Game at St Helens
at 05:10 1 Sep 2025

Unfortunately covoid killed off cricket in Swansea aided by years of neglect from Swansea City Council who let the ground decay since the its peak in the late 70s with the removal of the vast terrace at the side of the ground and the old rugby stand. The balconiers did thier best to keep cricket alive at St Helens with thier financial support for over 20 years but cricket has now been lost to the people of Swansea and West Wales.

Unfortunately people on benefits receive them tax free while people working pay Tax and NI on their earnings. Until the government start taxing benefits then people make the choice to live on unemployment benefits rather than work.

Unfortunately no government will take the action needed to get the workshy working.

Energy Price -some figures
at 18:17 28 Aug 2025

Germany does not have a nuclear power stations so not sure how they can be charging us for non existent energy especiallyas there is not electricity interconnect cable between the UK and Germany. France provides 7% of our electricity and the National grid pay the market wholesale price for it.

You seem to have forgotten Russia and Germany were on the same side they both invaded Poland. Stalin killed more Russians than Hitler did.
After Hitler invaded Russia it would not have survived without all the tanks, planes etc that the USA and the UK sent via the artic convoy
You are right the Crimes committed by Stalin and Hitler were on a different scale.

The truth about 20mph after two years.
at 10:33 18 Aug 2025

The boy racers will always break the speed limit. Everyone on that the road was more than happy driving safely between 50mph and 60mph. Unfortunately reducing it to 40 mph encourages boy racers to overtake making the road less safe.

Actually roads deaths and injuries are falling faster in England than in Wales without the Need for blanket 20mph speed limits. Just shows you can twist statistics to prove whatever you want to. The most dangerous roads in Wales are the single carriageway country lanes with 60mph limits.
