Promotion Norf?? They have got points (& goals) on the board (& not sure there is too much to worry about in this league). |

They have undoubtably started well this season....had some good results, scoring well. Looking at their results starting with us - Lets be honest and say we gifted them the game, we were 'proper' poor individually on the day and collectively - we gave them 5 goals through our utterly amateurish performance. Sheff Wed are not very good at all and they belted them too. Not seen the Millwall game but it appears to be a decent good result. They also 'tonked' an average B'ham team at home. Beat Derby, decent(ish) win but conceded 3 goals, could not beat Oxford or Norwich and also got a creditable draw at Leicester. Well done to them, you have got to get the points on the board and they have. They have winnable games coming up but then have 4/5 harder looking games on paper after that. |

My take on this is that the Manager will have his preferred CB pairing and he will not 'chop & change' CB's depending on who we are playing - we cannot worry about oppositions, just worry about our game. I say that because if, for example, we have just won 2-0 (Defence plays well, CB's work well, no goals conceded, etc, etc, all the positives) and the next opponent's has a 'pacey' CF so Cook, who lacks pace and played very well in the previous game is dropped down to sub......what would he be thinking?? - it would not go down very well, not just with Cook, but with many other members of that team. My gut feeling, providing they are 'fit & well' he will start with Morrison & Cook. I cannot see Cook being 'dropped' but if Mbengue is the Managers preferred CB over Morrison then we will see Mbengue start. A decision that will be discussed by the Management team in great detail with, I would expect, differing opinions, just like members of this MB. A very good position to be in, 3 decent CB's and a 'crock' who is always injured and arguably a better CB than all of them getting fitter for the time being!! [Post edited 8 Oct 8:30]

Maybe you are right Westbourne, there is no doubt that Charlie was not the most talented but he 'wanted it' and so does Kone. This season is 'big' for Kone and will tell us a tale!!! |

He is nowhere near Premiership standard.......it is about pace but much, much more - think ability. |
 | Forum Reply | What would be 'success' this season with this squad/manager? at 13:26 7 Oct 2025
Too early to say.....need to see if we can play as we have been playing consistently. If we do, and we are going to have bad results, we have every chance of top 10, maybe better. It helps because I think overall the league is very average this season. We will know more by the end of October/beginning of November. |

It was a perfect header......'it came from where it come from' (direction, adds a lot of speed/pace to the header). Smyth, not just because it was the winner, will be very pleased with the connection & direction. |

Sadly, he is lacking the basics....it must have worked in academy football but when you are up against experienced professionals it is a different game...... |

If he was 'poor' in those matches it would be very easy but he wasn't poor.......I am waiting for Lassel thoughts because I will vote the opposite for obvious reasons |

Starter or sub..........for the next game against Millwall on the 18th October. If he is a starter who is he a starter for??? Tough call for the manager and his team. |

Please do not think that I hate Armstrong, I, 100%, do not hate him....he just is not very good at all but gave his all when he had the shirt on. |

Not the best, not the worst but he is a proper Ranger, I got a lot of time for him……..great header at the far post - foul, never😂😂😂 |

I read some of the crap you post and I can assure you that you are not an expert for sure. Stick to Sunday morning football and you may be ok but I doubt it. |

I wa very pleased when he played in place of Dykes because he bought more to the team. On saying that he was very limited, in fact I have seen young 13 year olds with more technical ability than Armstrong…..he will be playing non league football very soon if he is lucky. Did absolutely nothing when he came in today, nothing🙈🙈. [Post edited 4 Oct 20:04]

Madsen is playing better for sure but he was never as bad as many posters posted…….some of it was proper unkind and not justified and extremely disrespectful but hey ho, he is giving you the two fingers which is what I would do as well. Let’s hope it continues. [Post edited 4 Oct 18:00]

One of our best players in the first half, relatively quiet second but did a fair job. Good part of a good win. |
 | Forum Reply | Shipshape and Bristol Fashion Match Thread at 17:09 4 Oct 2025
We created two half chances from crosses and we took them brilliantly..........we must start taking our half chances more often. Fair result, tough call but I will take 3 points at Ashton Gate although they were pretty average side. Just imagine if we had won our last two matches when we drew!!!! Enjoy a few days off boys, you worked very hard and deserve everything that you got. I am in Cyprus, enjoying a few days away, its 7pm now, quick shower, few Keo's, nice lamb chop dinner and a Baileys in the hotel to close the night!!!! Happy days!!!! |
