Really, I saw it as back 4, Madsen/Varane as a 2 in front of the back 4, Kone in the centre of Kaito & Vale with Burrell up front. Obviously that will change when the ball is active & depending on situations, etc, etc. |

Wow Numpty.....you have taken that to bits!!!! Short answer is, there is good, not so good & bad reasons and probably a few more. Not going into the detail like you have but I think it is generally good for us at this current time. |

It is very wrong to 'knock' Field, he is a 'proper' professional and overall he has been one of the first names on the sheet despite being a limited footballer attacking wise. I do not know exactly why he has been benched but he has started the season slowly and, perhaps, the Manager wants a more forward thinking midfielder than Field at this current time. It is all about choices and the Manager wants Varane in that role and the Team to play a little differently. I am sure he will get a run in the Team in due course. Posters should not be disrespectful to Field, he is 'proper' - a credit to himself & the Club. |

Agreed it is all about opinions, but to give two subs who played 18 minutes of the match the same mark as two players, one played 90 and the other 84, the same mark is wrong, And is worth a mention.....but I fully understand why Madsen only got a 6 mark - hey-ho, he will be 'in' again against Stoke!!! |

A better response PRR but mostly incorrect/wrong....... Madsen did not point to Morrison, he made a gesture to Varane who was coming out of the box after the keeper collected the ball (Do you know what he was saying??, I don't), Madsen then continued his run forward (this is what he does to give other options), Dunne to Vale, nice quality flick to Madsen who took the ball on the run going forward, laid an excellent ball to Kone & the rest is history.....a top quality goal but some posters want to make negatives. Dunne, Vale, Madsen & Kone done excellent, back to front, nice goal indeed. This lot, below, which you write is nonsense too......& I am not going into detail about that as well!! 'What Vale does though is what we need Madsen to do, drop into that space, play the ball on the half turn and open teams up the way Vale did, The roles should have been reversed here and Madsen should have been playing that pass to Vale, In this instance he didn't find space to take the ball instead telling Dunne to pass to Morrison, which was a to no where sideways pass, we don't break the line or score that goal' - NONSENCE!!! I am done with this thread, negatives should not be on the agenda regarding Madsen's performance at Wrexham, Madsen part in Kone's goal, nor the Team performance....all were very good. |

You are correct mate, absolute knit picking, just so the uneducated can have a dig at Madsen......the ball was very good indeed, near perfect (As I have said before, ask Kone what he thought about the pass!!!).....it wrong footed Coady allowed Kone to get the ball onto his preferred right foot & the rest is history. Sad reflection really, but hey ho!!! |

We still find times to be negative about Madsen when he is doing a very decent job for the Team, if he wasn't he would not get a start like he has in 12 or so of the last 15 matches. The pass he made for the Kone goal was excellent weighted ball to an excellent area which give Kone time & space to do his bit but many appear to think nothing of it. He certainly did, he 'showed up' in space to receive the ball, yes showed for the ball!!! (which I hear he doesn't do!!), knew what to do, early, because of his vision and forward mentality and done what he had to do to give Kone the opportunity to make space strike at goal - Ask Kone what he thought of the ball he got from Madsen. Of course he has weaknesses, don't they all??, they all go missing in games, they all give the stray pass, they all miss a tackle or header, they all make the wrong decisions and so on.......but posters appear to think that Madsen does it more than most, if not all of the other selected players. I can assure you all that he is no worse than many of the players and by the way just because Smyth or Kaito run around more than Madsen it does not mean Madsen is a passenger or they are more of an asset to the Team. He has a lot of other qualities that they do not have and hence why he plays/starts most weeks. |

I have my concerns and still have but 'fair play' he has been much better with his team selections, substitutions & tactics over the last two matches. I have never wanted him out, he needs to be given a fair chance and two wins are good, all wins are good as far as I am concerned even against Charlton & Wrexham who were average generally - you still have to beat them which is not easy. Onward to Stoke.....keep improving. |

I am not knocking any of the players for a very decent team performance but you do not win the first half very comfortably and the game overall with your two centre mid players being only average and overall the worst Rangers players on the pitch.......the same marks as Dembele (who should have scored - 100%) and Esquerdinha just doing a belated job for 18 minutes. Both CM players deserve better marks, especially Madsen who played an excellent ball for the 2nd goal and overall was pretty 'tidy' going forward and defensively.....but 'hey-ho', I 'get it' (another one!!!!). |

With regard to selecting the players who start against Stoke......there will not be many changes, even the same team may start if they are all fit. There will, perhaps, be a 'tinkering' of the tactics to deal with Stoke. |
 | Forum Reply | Walsh/Nardi 🙌 at 14:00 14 Sep 2025
I, personally, felt a lot easier with Nardi in goal yesterday, I wonder what the players thought. Why do I wonder/ask......because defenders, primarily, will have more confidence if they have 'good vibs' about their goalkeeper which should help their performance on the day. |
 | Forum Reply | Sam Field at 13:54 14 Sep 2025
Posters should not under value the contribution that Field has made since he has been here.....he has been totally committed which is more than I can say for many. Field still has a big part to play in this team of players. |
 | Forum Reply | How did Madsen play yesterday? at 13:42 14 Sep 2025
In answer to the question......he was decent, a very important part of the Team again yesterday. Sadly, non educated posters, and there are quite a few, still fail to see how important he was to a good team performance yesterday. Not to worry, he will be starting again against Stoke as he has done on most occasions for the last 15 first team matches, selected by professionals that have an understanding of the game, like I do |
 | Forum Reply | Wrex-iting for all the wrong reasons, its a Deadpool...Wrexham Vs QPR thread at 14:34 13 Sep 2025
With Smyth & Walsh injured, the only surprise in the Team selection for me is that Vale is starting, Saiko was going to start all day long, back 4 did enough against Charlton, so did the other midfielders and Kone up front. Think Burrell will be up top with Kone. Keep it tight for the first 20 odd minutes and we have chances, Wrexham are nothing special. Oh, should also say I thought there would have been a place for Field in the starting line up. [Post edited 13 Sep 14:42]
