I saw something on social media. A simpleton thought it was Ralph but it was Wayne Batten |

Is this the last game or are they doing a friendly (or friendlies like we did after the last league game at the dell)? |
 | Forum Thread | “Pluck little Bournemouth” ?? at 17:11 10 Apr 2025
Across the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons, Bournemouth spent £271.1m on new players and recouped just £5.1m in player sales, a net spend of £266m. That was the fifth-highest net transfer spend in English football over those two years. Though the club’s net spend has tumbled this season following the sale of England striker Dominic Solanke to Tottenham last summer, it’s hard to argue they haven’t gained a sporting advantage via the loan write-off. Without it, they would not have been able to invest so heavily in new players — and indeed would have breached PSR and had to deal with the attendant troubles that brings. But Bournemouth broke no rules. Indeed, the Premier League was happy with the treatment applied in this instance. |

From their perspective, they are going to be seeing this as the most winnable game of the rest of the season. I know we had the goal dubiously ruled out in the away game but it still annoys me that we played so pathetically on the back of the win against Everton, we that could have been the chance to push on but I seem to recall we didn’t otherwise have a shot on target. |
 | Forum Reply | Southampton At Chelsea The Verdict at 10:13 26 Feb 2025
Spot on with 'The Verdict'. Second half, reduced intensity, they brought on a load of youngsters and were trying to set up Palmer to score when there were better options. It could have been a lot worse. The only argument for keeping Juric is that it would presumably cost us money to get rid of him which could be used for next season. I thought that defensively we couldn't have got any worse than we were under Martin but Juric has proved me wrong. |

It seems so obvious but why does Juric ignore it? Rusk is the only manager who has set us up to not lose in his one PL game against Fulham. |
 | Forum Reply | Hate to say this at 08:58 24 Feb 2025
I think it's a number of factors with Dibling, he's still really young, he's playing in a poor team, there is a lack of confidence around the whole club, he's better known by opposition players and managers. He started the season well and in an ideal world he'd have gradually got minutes coming off the bench when we were already winning and he didn't have to worry about his defensive responsibilities so much. He was better at the start of the season playing off the right. Saying all that, any player would struggle in this team at the moment, there's no clear structure or positive patterns of play. |
 | Forum Reply | Does Juric want to be here next season? at 21:03 17 Feb 2025
I think it's looking increasingly likely that he won't be here next season. Hopefully there is a clause in his contract that allows him to leave this summer. I think it was best to say he was on an 18 month contract as that did give some incentive for him to stay if he did well but the way things are going I just can't see how it is beneficial for him to be in charge next season. Like we did with Martin, give the new manager a clean start in the Championship. I really wanted Juric to do well but he just isn't helping himself. That first half against Bournemouth, various other halves against other teams, his refusal to not play with his preferred formation is all stacking up against him. The fans are looking for someone or something to blame and I think he's going to be the one to get some stick in the next few games if we carry on losing. |
 | Forum Reply | If Bournemouth can do it with gates of 11,000 why can't we. at 10:02 27 Jan 2025
I think they got lucky with the timing of FFP rules though. They have very rich backers and they were able to spend in a way that newly promoted clubs aren't any more. They have also done really well on recruitment, they have bought and sold well. By contrast we spent a lot of money in 22/23 on the likes of Bazunu, Caleta Carr, Larios, Mara etc. |

Credit to all our fans at the Amex tonight, you sounded great on the TV and could have been forgiven for leaving at half time after that first half. Well done to you all. |

A massive upgrade on Southgate but a part of me just doesn’t like the fact that he’s not English. Not being small minded or racist, it’s just how I think international football should be. |

A certain S. Gallagher on the scoresheet. He’s 29 years old and that made me feel very old, I still think of him as a youth team player. |

Not at the moment though, he just needs to concentrate on his own game. A future captain definitely. |
