That's sort of where I am. There's no guarantee with anything. Some other clubs will be doing the same and more. But looking forward to the new season this early is unusual for me.
Who honestly seen this coming. Promises made and usually broken. The positivity is as at a long time high with many of us. If the owners are not beginning to win supporters over I don't what those people want. All that said all these positive signings there is no guarantee they will work or gel so I'll stay positive but will temper my expectations.
I just can't imagine the situation that he let it be known he's made his mind up but is not prepared to let his bosses know his decision. That surely couldn't be acceptable to the owners.
Free and scores goals at this level. Wages as stated could be the issue. Would that compensate for being free? I know some fans are against the return of former players. Leon and Curt didn't do bad on their return and helped getting us promoted to the top flight on two occasions. (Just a minor point).
Genuine question. Why do you think Wrexham have achieved what they have compared to Salford? I've had a look at the wealth of the two main guys Reynolds and Beckham and they are similar around £350m-£450m each. They've had Salford since 2014. You would think that ex footballers would have more nouse and ambition to move their club through the leagues.. Is it the Wrexham guys don't interfere with the running of their club? Thoughts?
Be glad when this is over with TBH. Can't blame HD really most of us would do the same if we we re in his lucky position. Money generally in football has become more important than loyalty or ambition.
I also believe/hope he's been given a deadline. Someone mentioned he is away on holiday at the moment. So if that's correct the likely scenario would be on his return we need his answer.
So has he got to let us know by next week otherwise the offer could/will be withdrawn? We had similar issues with Andy Robinson and Pratley as I remember. When we retracted the offer. Robbo was waiting to see if Leeds went up.
This won't be popular. Ginnelly a handful of games in 2 seasons. When others are mentioned as a waste of a wage. What's he cost us? Will he ever be fit?
Ok so the club by the statement quoted back in Feb is that they want someone long term to play with the identity we have had for 20 years or so. Couple of points as I see it. Play tends to evolve. 20yrs ago we played nice football without the suicide factor at the back we had adopted We pay big bucks for someone untried to manage who wants certain players with a cost attached. They may or may not work. (Many don't). 1 of 2 things. It's works he gets poached. It doesn't we get rid at a cost. Out of pure interest I checked the average managerial tenure of a Championship manager. It's 10 months. Stick with Sheehan. (It may only be 10 months).
I wouldn't have though sourcing would not be his prime objective. Developing yes. We've seen a number of players develop/improve since his appointment and the results have gone hand in hand. He would need to say very little in his conversation with the board . Just show a couple of screenshots of before and after.
Surely the situation can only be now:- We arranged to review at the end of the season and the situation can be sorted then. I have read somewhere also that if Sheehan is offered the position he would want to see what the clubs ambition and financial backing he would have for next season before he would accept. I certainly hope that is the reality because he's gone from not too many supporters wanting him in charge.(Cheap option). To not many wanting him not to get the gig.
