EFL CUP final is on sky atm Peterborough winning 2 nil atm .Some good young players on show especially in Peterborough team . We should be looking at these players on show too.
Yes at home and 3-1 down they will have to go for it . Asencio will surely start and I hope they do go through , I just cannot see Villa keeping a clean sheet though not against these , there's just too much attacking talent.
As well as the dynamism and fitness levels , what has impressed me is their movement off the ball the intricate one touch passing that opens up the defence the constant movement of runners into space that leaves defenders chasing shadows. It's the football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters .
A breath of fresh air in this year's champions league. Man City beaten Liverpool beaten Aston Villa half beaten. Are they up there with the best teams of the champions league of the modern era ? - I would say so . I was sceptical at first when they beat Man City who are not having the best of it this season but when they outplayed Liverpool WOW ! Villa last night were second best too and we witnessed some fantastic football. Doure's (19 years of age!!) goal a work of art and Karavashvilli's goal ( Don't think I spelt that right ) their no. 7 - a sublime bit of skill.anyone who didn't see that last night missed a treat . Perhaps we could send some of our coaches to Luis Enrique for in an depth coaching school he's certainly doing something right . I cannot see any weaknesses in that team and it will be a hell of a team if any that stops them from winning it.
What impressed me was his obvious in depth knowledge of the game his appraisal of the gulf between the championship and the premiership . Very insightful. Basically the big difference between the 2 leagues is that the prem consists of players who are bigger stronger more athletic and faster especially in midfield. This allows teams in the prem to transition at pace flooding the opponent's box in attack . This was illustrated within 2 minutes by Newcastle 's midfielders sprinting forward and Jacob Murphy putting the ball in the net at the back post. Leicester were treading water and their midfield passed by . The second goal illustrated something similar Murphy again capitalising on hesitation , to sprint forward to slot home the second and the game was over. Bellamy also stated that the gulf between the 2 leagues is massive and that big money buys the more accomplished all round athlete . I think we can learn as a club from what he was saying . We should be looking at young promising fast athletic midfielders from the lower leagues and investing . Training should be geared to short sprint training . IN American football a lot of training concerns speed off the mark -- 40 m max sprint distance but each player is timed and recorded . We can learn a lot from American football methods regarding athleticism , recovery etc. Tom Brady is giving BCFC the benefit of his knowledge not only from a business point of view but also for onfield matters . Bellamy was saying that not only are the prem players transitioning at pace but sprinting back to defend as well - this was done to a far higher standard in the prem.
He caught it on a day trip to Southend when he was 8. He never made an issue of it and got 0n with life . All credit to him for that and becoming a successful entertainer to boot. He puts some of the modern day recipients of benefits to shame. He once signed my t shirt backstage after a gig and me and a mate shared some of the band's sandwiches . Norman Watt Roy gave me his ball pentel pen as a souvenir. Lol
Hi Keith re, the p.m I sent you re. investment . my nephew has got back to me - his boss is not interested atm . he is interested in purchasing high end cars not a football club. Pity...... . I did try though.
