Ruben was probably f**ked off about the performance like the rest of us. Doesn’t he put in a million a month, or something like that, to prop up the club? I’m only putting in £45 a month and I was really f**ked off on Saturday, still am actually.

QPR trounced in final home game as Burnley run riot - Report
at 10:53 28 Apr 2025

Good report, as always.

Bloody depressing game. It feels like whatever we (the club) try we’re doomed to be treading water forever.

I don’t think there is one person to blame. Marti isn’t the saint he’s made out to be and Nourry isn’t the evil CEO people think he is. The amount of conjecture is astonishing, especially when in reality this season has been in keeping with the previous however many.

We’re trying to play by rules that reward wealthy clubs. Clubs like us are here to make up the numbers as far as the football authorities and bullsh*t football media is concerned.

On a personal note, the thing I find most difficult to deal with is the incredible high I get from moments like Andersen’s goal to the frustration/anger/depression (whatever you want to call it) when we lose and the club seems to implode.

The worst thing about is come August I’ll be back at Loftus Road, in my seat wearing the newest home kit with renewed optimism. What the f**k is wrong with me?!

How they played was the issue, its a reflection of their attitude.

I don’t agree about the Colback criticism. He’s been one of our best players recently. I know he has a habit of picking up cards unnecessarily, but his recent performances have been good. Especially compared to certain players who have been consistently bad. Paal or Madsen? Madsen gets a few assists and people are creaming themselves like he’s the second coming, totally ignoring the fact he’s been anonymous for majority of the time he’s played this season.

I get it, we’re all football fans and we have our bias. We take a dislike or like a certain player and they can do no wrong or do everything right. I’m guilty of it myself, I’ve been a big fan of Andersen and far too forgiving of his woeful performances. But I recognise that.

Yesterday was awful and the performance was disrespectful to the fans. Last home game of the season - show some effort, show that you care. We can accept losing, especially to the top team in the league, but I don’t think we deserve that display.

Bloody flag! I wanted to rant about having a political flag with Che Guevara’s face on it and I can’t even do that now!

I know it was a stupid question (written in the heat of the moment), none of us want another season of that. You’re right staying up has been a positive.

The thing that really gets me is not that we lost, but how we lost, and that has nothing to do with money/better players etc. The players did not want to compete. Two examples that stuck in my mind - first half, Varane carries the ball through midfield with a clear pass in front of him to Kolli who refuses to show for it. Second half - Burnley counter and Edward’s is caught between two players whilst Paal just casually jogs back, zero sense of urgency. I won’t be watching the highlights, but I’m sure there’ll be plenty more examples.

It would have been possible to counter Burnley’s movements by playing a higher defensive line for example. We wouldn’t have necessarily won the game or even drawn, by doing this, but I’m sure we wouldn’t have lost 5-0, and it would have at least shown that we weren’t just there for the taking.

I can accept all the many issues of this club, but I can’t accept a lack of effort and basic application. Which is what I sat through this afternoon. What I watched today wasn’t on Marti or Nourry or the medical man in Dubai, it was on the 11 players on the pitch.

Lastly, did anyone stay to the end? What was the mood like when the players came back out?

That was an awful end to a bad season.

The team phoned it in. There is no defending that performance.

My only note worthy observation was that Varane looked like the only QPR player that cared.

Do I really want another season of this?

Eze - Someone who works at a food bank posted a story about him on a local Facebook group. They met him when he was dropping of a collection. They didn’t know he was a professional footballer until someone told them later, and they were just remarking on what a nice person he was and not like your stereotypical footballer.

If Alfie Lloyd wins goal of the season for that wonderful strike against Sheff Wednesday, I'll definitely buy a heavily discounted dehydrated urine kit with his name/number on the back. Instant classic!

We were beaten by a better team today, but I don’t think our performance was totally abject.

I hate to blame the ref, but he did contribute to breaking up the play which then played into Swansea’s hands once they realised they could utilise the ‘dark arts’. That aside, we were toothless in the final third despite some good build up play.

The game had a good pace to it and I thought we did show some desire to win, which in the end wasn’t enough.

We all know our failings, so no point going over them again. I know some are disappointed with Marti’s team selection, but at this point it doesn’t really hurt to mix it up a little.

Nice to see Sutton get some minuets.

He gets the credit when he does well, it’s just that he’s totally anonymous most of the time.

Can we please consign ‘luxury player’ to the LFW glossary!!!

Good for you for not ‘kicking him when he’s down’. You’ve been very humble about it and I’m sure your positive vibes have played their part in his three (relatively) good performances this season.

If there’s one thing we must remember about Madsen is that Numpty has never been the type to kick a player when they’re down, unlike a few on here.

Sent from my bedroom.

Absolutely buzzing! I just love it when we win and even more so when it’s a last minute screamer. I really like Andersen’s style of play and have been really disappointed with his dip in form, so to see him grab the winner was fantastic. Having said that, I must give Frey his credit, also a lovely goal.

MOTM was Colback. A brilliant performance.

Madsen gets an honourable mention for his sublime first time ball to Min-Hyeok. A lovely bit of football.

Come on Dutch, that was a gash game of football. It’s okay to expect more than THAT. I’m not asking for total football, I’m not a Leeds fan in disguise, I’m just an ordinary QPR fan that sat through 93 minutes of a terrible game of football whilst the sun slowly burnt me.
