And it's not factory workers v doctors and solicitors, it's almost all of us against the super rich and those who serve them. The problem is they have all the money and nearly all of the media.

Italy for Beginners by George Mikes.

It helps if you're somewhat familiar with travelling in Italy and with the style of guide books.

He's gone off the boil in the last few games, but he's not the only one.

22, played 9 and a half games at this level and probably the best striker signing we've made since Charlie Austin MK I.

What do you reckon then, was there a secret establishment committee rubber stamping IRA bomb attacks? If so, who was on it?

Yep. And expanding my theme, the amount of times it goes wide and there's no one on the overlap. That's pretty much a basic if you're trying to get forward wide!

We need to find an out ball instead of repeatedly trying the thread it through the eye of a needle in congested areas, which happened a lot on our left in the first half. It can't be that difficult to set up to switch the ball quickly.

Used Opera on Weds, no problems, now as soon as I enable VPN it disconnects the internet. I wonder if Virgin Media are blocking all VPNs?

If your bb is with Virgin Media you might have to disable parental controls.

QPR's road warriors sink ten-man Swans - Report
at 15:46 24 Oct 2025

Tremendous report, much to agree with, especially re Burrell. I felt he was originally signed as a third choice striker but he's played himself into possibly equal first choice. He's a smart player and if he can improve that heavy first touch will become a very good one.

NB player ratings are spot on, too.

QPR convert 3.7 million worth of loans into shares
at 14:38 24 Oct 2025

Less, I would say.

That share conversion values the club at £160 million, which very neatly is exactly the same value as 16 billion sheets of the cheapest bog roll costing a tenth of a penny per sheet.

But I think you could buy QPR for a good deal less than that.

'Seats spelling out Chansiri's name in the North Stand at Hillsborough were removed on Friday afternoon.'

Today's fate was set the day those seats were installed by a raging narcissist on an ego trip.

keeper
at 23:58 23 Oct 2025

A question that surely deserves the full slop of a large language model (popularly known as AI) answer.

"Goalkeepers often choose to punch or parry the ball instead of catching it due to the high speed of shots, crowded penalty areas, and slippery conditions, which can make catching risky. This approach helps them clear the ball safely and avoid potential mistakes that could lead to goals.

Reasons Goalkeepers Rarely Catch the Ball
High-Speed Shots

Velocity Factor: Modern soccer balls are lighter and can move unpredictably in the air. When shots come in at high speed, catching can be risky. Goalkeepers often choose to punch or parry the ball to avoid fumbling.

Crowded Situations

Penalty Area Congestion: During set pieces like corners, the penalty area is crowded. Attempting to catch the ball in such situations can lead to fouls or accidental drops. Punching the ball clears it away from immediate danger.

Weather Conditions

Wet or Slippery Balls: In rainy or humid conditions, the ball becomes slippery, making it harder to grip. Goalkeepers prefer to punch or parry to prevent the ball from slipping through their hands.

Positional Strategy

Repositioning: If a goalkeeper is off their line or out of position, punching the ball can be a strategic move. This allows them to clear the ball while gaining time to get back into a better position.

Conclusion

The choice to punch or parry instead of catching is influenced by factors like shot speed, crowding, weather, and positioning. These decisions are crucial for effective goalkeeping and minimizing the risk of conceding goals."

What a load of mush. Even on a quick scan I can see it's regurgitated the common fallacy that modern balls are lighter.
