He is a Rs legend, is loyal to the club, knows our youngsters, won't cost compensation and shows career progression within the club is possible.
Would prefer us to back Paul than any of the other names being linked. |

I am not joining in with the Nourry is the devil and Marti is the best Manager ever theme.
Both have done some good things and probably made some mistakes.
At the end of the day Marti's agent entered discussions with a rival club and Marti must have expressed an interest.
The only option to Nourry imo was to put Marti on gardening leave, it would have been a farce to let Marti take the team to Sunderland.
I hope Marti leaves now as the relationship has been tainted. I also hope we know who the new Coach is quickly and we sort out the contracts of players we'd like to retain |

Would love it to be true but as stated previously
- he is contracted until 2027 to WBA
- why would he swap a team expecting to compete for a Top6 finish for a team expected to be bottom 6?
- Why would WBA sell him? |

IMO we are being too short sighted saying our transfer dealings have been poor. They have been mixed, some good (Nardi, Varane, Morrison, Saito), some poor
( Madsen, Celar) and some too early to tell ( Dembele, Morgan).
That's no different to previous regimes ( Dykes, Washington, Dozell)
I still back Noury but am a bit on the fence re Marti |

Football is a lot about opinions and results show that Marti gets it right more than wrong. I felt he made an error in starting Varane at Portsmouth, it was always going to be a physical battle and maybe Colback or Morgan would have been better.
Imo, we are close to being a play off side but a long way from being a side that could complete in the EPL. |
