Here comes the summer transfer rumour thread
at 07:54 1 Jul 2025

My thought on things aswell, a lot of excitement that is down to our early recruitment and has got our tails up and rightly so....it stands out more due to the fact that we haven't been this pro active for quite a few seasons.

As for our actual recruitments, it's been encouraging and aside from Burgess it's certainly going to be unknown and fingers crossed that Widell,Inoussa and Wales can take the step up to the level and adapt to living away from home at a young age.

Santos is another roll of the dice given his age and not playing at this level before.

I don't think we should take anything for granted and our experiences of Vipotnik and Eom for example should make us be a little bit more patient with the younger players signed this summer.

I'm being quite cautious given my reasons above plus I still feel there is quite a bit of work to be done to make the team and squad competitive. There is a lot of work being done by other championship clubs that is pretty impressive with Derby chasing had for the USA striker and Oxford close to a Belgian midfielder in the Dutch top flight......the club needs to get a move on with some impressive signings in the next couple of weeks to try and keep the feel good factor going into the pre season games atleast.

If he comes back(McBurnie) then a big play in that will be him wanting too come back, more teams will be able to offer him a bigger wage and more.
He will bring experience, desire and someone who should guarantee double figures if he plays regularly. It's a yes from me after time to think but I still feel Vipotnik should be kept as his understudy and to learn off him.

This is where planning comes in.

Don't wait around too long and move onto the next target/s and they should have a good portfolio of players of the same ilk.

Be a shame to not see him back as he fitted in but we need to look at other positives. An O'Brien deal would certainly be top end of our budget so a replacement will likely be cheaper which then means money can be used in other areas.

Hopefully he was.
This U21 championship is a good window and the type of picture we should be looking at even within the weaker nations involved.
Younger player.
Possible cheaper options.
Likely to get 1 of the 4 non WP options if they don't obtain enough points for a WP.

Monjaro diet jabs

Regards your last paragraph. I agree that it benefits those with weight or other issues that require them to take these jabs.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people taking these jabs who are in positions where they are taking it for a quick fix.

Wouldn't touch them!

I get their benefits but not good long term and once dropped will likely see the weight come back on with god knows the long term side effects.
As stated by others, quick weight loss is not a good thing at all.

If we are trying to cut down then a player who can play a couple of positions comfortably is a good move.
So what are we looking at Keith?

Central Midfielder?
Midfielder/Full back?
Striker?

Still think we could do with another CB capable of covering one of the full back slots.
Still alot of work to do with moving players on also, they have given themselves a good head start being fair.

Keep away for that sort of money.

Better options out there for midfielders capable of playing RB. Plenty with contracts ending.

Nayel Mehssatou being a stand out.

🔴 Swans trying to get two in before the turn of the month

Also chatter that we are prepared to put a deal in place for the right player that would see a fee higher than what we paid for Inoussa.

Think a lot was said out loud with one eye on the cards close to the chest.

Quite a few things off record......supposedly.

Working hard on moving players out and some deals in the pipeline. Still plenty more to be done with incomings.

No, sorry but he is just away with the fairies with some of his thoughts especially regards Cardiff.

He's a wind up although I will say that many people are very different then what they are online compared to in person.

Widell has a WP.

Inoussa takes 1 of the non WP slots meaning we now have 3 slots available. Players who take those slots still need to pass a certain criteria.

Players signed previously under the non WP rule such as Ronaldo, once they have been at the club for 12 months then get a WP meaning another slot opens for the club.

Oli McBurnie : Swans very much aware of a potential free transfer
at 09:11 20 May 2025

He would certainly be more appealing than Carlton Morris and I think he would certainly be interested if we were.

He would bring much needed experience to the squad and a frontline that would see Ronald,Eom and Inoussa all playing around him AND if Vipotnik was still around then I believe it would benefit Zan aswell.

If the club were able to get it done and done within our finances then it's a big thumbs up from me.

What is school for?
at 17:12 12 May 2025

Most schools have allowed year 11 pupils to leave unofficially and study for their exams at home.......when I say most, I refer to schools in NPT.

As for supply teachers, they still have to teach year 7 upto year 11 as don permanent teachers in schools.

I would say the decision not letting him leave school unofficially to study is down to the school rather than NPT council.

My daughter is in year 10 and she told me last week that year 11 had all finished in her school(St Joe's PT) and my wife a Chemistry teacher told me that her yr 11 pupils also left last week(she teaches under Bridgend council).
