I watched Fylde vs York a few weeks ago where Fylde parked 11 men behind the ball but they couldn't live with York's interplay and movement off the ball. York carved them open and won 3-1 but sadly I saw none of that yesterday
All of our sub 2,000 attendances this season have been on Tuesday nights. Yesterday was our first Saturday 3pm kick-off to dip below 2,000 since we dropped into non-league and I don't think it's a coincidence that it came off the back of that dreadful performance last weekend
Only other factor is Hornets played there on Sunday afternoon. I don't think that did the pitch any favours especially the area of the pitch that was of concern to the ref tonight
Stockton have got the 3rd highest avarage attendance in the league with an avarage of 905 fans which is very impressive for the level, only Macc and FC United have better. I see they've sold the majority of their allocation as well with about a hundred and odd tickets left as of today. Stockton fans are usually a friendly bunch but I do recall their play off match with Marske United 2 seaons ago having to be stopped due to trouble in the stands. With the sandy being shut I imagine the yoof will go in the pearl street to get as close to the Stockton fans as possible but hopefully the banter will be friendly and the game will go by without any trouble
This issue is still happening today. When I go to the "My Card" section, it says "No Events Found." It's really frustrating because I finish work at 2:30 and rush over to the ground so I usually miss the first 5 minutes of the game as it is. Now, I’ll miss even more of the match since I have to go to the ticket office to buy my ticket. This will be the third home match I've attended this season, and each time I’ve tried to buy a ticket on the website with my discount card, it’s been a stressful ordeal
I opted not to get a season ticket this year and a big reason for that was the football that was served up last season. The way we play is so negative and boring to watch. With the excpetion of Cian Hayes who had the ability to get you off your seat the majorty of games were a complete borefest. Fair enough the results were an improvement on what's been on offer in previous seasons but the entertainment certainly wasn't. I do feel like it's a mistake offering Jim a new contract but I would love to be proven wrong
Following a recent Written Resolution and two surveys, The Vanarama National League have confirmed the following changes to the 2024/25 season.
Substitutions
“A Club at its discretion may use five substitute Players at any time in a match. Substitution can only be made when play is stopped for any reason and the Referee has given permission.
A maximum of (seven) substitutes may be nominated and they must be included on the official Team Sheet handed to the Referee before the match”.
Christmas and Easter fixture schedules
“Historically, the Christmas and New Year schedules are reversed, in that the Boxing Day Fixtures are reversed with New Year Day fixture, therefore playing the same team in a close timeframe.
After surveying all clubs, the Board agreed that the League will reverse next seasons Boxing Day fixtures with Good Friday and New Year with Easter Monday”.
Saturday the 10th of Febuary appears to be a free date for both teams. I assume that's an FA Trophy weekend so it would be ideal if we could play the game on that date
Moulden was interviewed on BBC Radio Northampton about an hour ago. He said that the idea was pitched to him last week and he saw it as a good opportunity for himself to develop. He did say that he had an emotional connection with the fans at Rochdale and the manager and the players so it was a tough decision but he felt it was the right move for him so I don't think there's much we could've done
Could it have been something to do with the fact that Uchegbulam had his tracksuit on whereas Sinclair still had his kit on? I think subs are required to put a bib on or wear a tracksuit over the kit, I don't know if that's a rule the refs can enforce, I'm just speculating
The Halifax groundsman posted a picture of the pitch this afternoon on Facebook with the caption totally playable, no standing water. A tad wet in areas. We'll see what it's like tomorrow after more rain
