Would be a shame if City recall him. We've seen what happens to young players further up the pypamid: warming the subs bench at best.

Aye I'm a bit late to the party but will trawl the archives. Is their Glastonbury gig worth a watch?

Just thought I'd share this in case anyone was interested.
Wish I'd seen them when they were playing spit and sawdust gigs.

Well Brackley did us aa big favour today: scored an equaliser against Scunthorpe in the 98th minute. Scunny were the only team that could have overtaken us with their games in hand.
I notice Carlisle lost to Sutton. We are not doing too bad.

First Dale Match On Film
at 14:36 29 Aug 2025

Well here's one for our intrepidTVOS:
I've just read that the first time we were filmed was back in the 1910 - 11 FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round, against Heywood United.

Is that in your archive? 🙂

Would that have been Dale as we are now or one of our predecessors?
And did we beat the Monkey Towners?

Trailblazers?

Well, I'm sure I read on here that no team had ever made 11 changes for their next match well, apparently, Sunderland, Burnley and Charlton (that I know of) have all done the same tonight.
Jim is setting the trend

"Second win in three days", for Dale, according to the commentator. See Jim, it can be done.

.... Rekeil Pyke is playing for Truro.
I was desperate for him to be booked, when he played for us, and the ref to have to ask him his name so we could all shout .... Well you know what 😄

The team was on a team sheet given away free. That will be the collector's item :-)

It's one game that's gone wrong. Let's all give our heads a wobble and see if Jim learns from this error of judgement and gets us back on track again.
After all he has recruited well and we can't argue about the previous games this season.

I was at the game and we were stunned when we saw the team sheet. But we all believed we had 2 players for each position, so what could possibly go wrong?
Well, it showed us that the second string are not as good as we thought they were. They might shine individually when they get a chance in the first team but this team selection did not gel. How demoralising for the lads!
We were back to pedestrian football. No pace, no one who could run to the by line and cross. All our attempts were down the middle and snuffed out until Tobi came on.
Levi had a marker stuck to him like glue, so we couldn't get a ball to him.
Honestly, we might have had all the ball but we couldn't do a thing with it. It was one of the dreariest matches I have seen in a long time. The complete antithesis of Wednesday.
Don't believe any flannel Jim might spout about the match: we were cr@p.
I commented at half time that our hole had already been dug too deep and no matter who we brought on, the damage had been done.

Ref was bobbins and all!

The Heed had a great chant: "Backwards and sideways everywhere we go...."
Struck a chord did that. Hopefully we won't have to borrow that song for a while.

Aye. MacBride and the curse of the former player.... Even the Gateshead fans were cheering that goal.
That was as good a performance as I have seen in a long, long time.
I can't wait to see Amantchi fully unleashed. To have two tall players in a Dale squad is unheard of. But two who can actually play??!! Wow!

I thought the same when Mani got booked. A player fired up and passionate, who cares.
It was an Alty payer who dragged him away and calmed him down. All credit to their player for that.

An odd one really but has stuck in my mind was Donnelly's goal v Burton. We had never got a point off them and they had taken the lead. We could not break them down. Donnelly smacked a shot and, I can't just remember whether it hit one of their defenders or he just miss hit it, but it flew into the air, over the keeper's head , who managed to claw it out of the goal. We weren't 100% sure whether it had crossed the line but the ref thought about it and gave the goal and we drew.
As I say not a particularly good goal but it broke our duck against the Brewers. And probably added another grand on the fee we received for him when he got sold 😀
