Whilst some on here told us all point blank he was retiring end of this season to pursue his 'business interest'..... or maybe not, I did mention it at the time 👍
A bit like the old you can only respond with "proportionate force" when the one that instigates it inevitably comes under return fire, when has that every been a thing when in a war.
Have a listen to Douglas Murray, hes always a good listen and talks a lot of sense
Jim's post match comments are about as unsurprising as his in game management... he took around 2 mins to mention Southends "clout' and the 'changes they can make' with them being 'deeper than us'..... hes very selective is our Jim when he mentions 'clout'
Barlow is at the heart of most things positive, Rodney had a very good half even without his goal, putting himself about very well and both finishes were top drawer.
Very much so, there was a fair old list of former players, team mates etc there, some that went on to bigger things that still clearly held Joe in high regard years down the line.
I watched his interview last night and wondered if he'd witnessed a different game, hes deluded about deserving of a draw, he probably means due to our inability to score more than 1 on the night more than their actual performance perhaps.
His young family and business interests have been just fine fitting in around the football, there's no reason that couldn't still work for another season, I think folk underestimate quite how much free time these guys actually have, there's very good reason when loads of pro footballers are also very very good at golf too, that talent doesnt just usually happen playing once a month 🙄
It's funny how he failed to mention our "clout" after being turned over numerous times by part time outfits this year, dont seem to remember him mentioning his own teams "clout" either when Spennymoor strolled through to a Wembley final without even getting out of second gear.
I was actually sat watching that looking at the league table and the possible upcoming playoffs and thinking this has to be THE most uninspiring end to any season considering our league position ive ever felt.
Dug deep for that one, could only really see Altrincham getting a winner after their equaliser, Rodney had a couple of decent chances before that when you wondered if we'd let the chance slip, that first half was excellent and as their commentary team mentioned "Altrincham will be happy being only one goal down", there's certainly a very good side within this group of players and if we can go on a run there's not many teams I'd fear in the play offs "IF" we turn up.
