Are some of our current problems down to us..the fans?
at 10:29 15 Nov 2014

So do I , no gripe with the family personally, I have supported them in the past and I would have exactly the same reaction if it had been Andy Pilley who had let such an opportunity slip....although I somehow think he wouldn't.

You are so blinkered in your support for the O's BHOK. We had 14000 plus average crowds for the past 3 seasons. We actually had them in the ground and for the first 2 seasons actually enjoying the football telling their friends and bringing them along. Every effort should have been made to grow the business. The money was there, the Premier League legacy should have made this club. We had no debts and it wouldn't have taken millions to keep us in the prem that first season or indeed to get us straight back the next. Shocking stewardship by the owners.

As for your 1978 onwards argument, all teams crowds suffered, in the 80's Newcastle and Chelsea had sub 10k crowds, Wolves when they came down to our level were getting 2000 crowds. It's a good job Reading owners didn't think there was no point investing. Until the mid 90's their average attendance was less than 5000.

There is no logic to what the Oyston's are doing to our club, as the poster above said, it's not just newbies who are stopping going, I know many who have supported for thirty years who are sick to the back teeth of the way the odious family are running the club into the ground..

A bit of ambition and Bournemouth with their 9000 crowds show it can be done. Our owners have killed the feel good factor and growing fan base in one fell swoop.

Only one person is to blame for our current predicament.

The Karl Oyston List of Shame
at 15:42 12 Nov 2014

Letting David Vaughan's contract run down when the player had wanted to sign a new deal 6 months earlier.

Refusing to pay Leicester the 250k asking price for DJ saying we could get him for nothing later on. We ended up paying 1.2 million.

Charlie Austin, wouldn't pay 500 quid a week extra when we were in the Prem and lost him to a championship club.

His penny pinching ways lost us Angel Rangel and Scott Sinclair who both wanted 3 year deals, Albert Adomah, see DJ above.

Ollie wanted security of a 3 year deal, he felt he had more than earned it after taking us to the prem.

Matt Williams wanted us to match Shrewsbury's offer and make him CEO. Blunderbus let him go and thinking he could save money on a cheap option brings in Chris Hough who blunders away 30k on failing to register a player.

Far too many things, Tommo, cheap option in building materials for the stands meaning escalating maintenance costs, just too many things to mention.

No one but a son of the owner would still be in the job with his track record.

Cheers Boyos, some great support there and pleasing that the world is getting to know about the Oyscums. You were robbed at Stoke by the way but you still play football the way it should be played.

Was Ollie really that good?
at 13:47 30 Aug 2014

Yes he was, even Tony Parkes admitted he would never have employed the attacking formation Ollie used with that set of players. As said before the real proof of the pudding was the second promotion play off season when he rebuilt the team on a limited budget and played some of the best football I have ever seen at Bloomfield. A miracle worker TWICE, we are light years away now.

Perhaps he means Ollie got the best out of them and played them in their best positions, moving DV from left wing to central midfield.

Nah, we will let another 6 points slip by before we bring in hopefully what's needed. I mean in KOKO's world what is more important, pounds or points?

A couple of freebies transfer deadline day and then top up with a 2 or 3 loans is my bet.

All money generated by the football club will be ploughed back into the football side.

Though I believe we were told that 10 years ago by Karly boy.

Is this site a bit of a dead duck already?

Definitely some good features on this site but more debate going on the other site still. Early days so not fair to judge yet,

Looking at the stats on the fixtures feature, that was certainly some crowd at the City ground yesterday, must be a world record 280,280

Anyone regretting not renewing?
at 23:28 6 Aug 2014

The way KO has handled matters this close season has completely alienated a large proportion of the fan base. I renewed just before the deadline after Riga was appointed. I came very close to demanding a refund.

The players recruited over the past few days are of a decent calibre and I can't help feeling that a lot of the bad feeling could have been avoided if these deals had been done 5 weeks ago.

For KO to brazenly spout that he has saved thousands on wages by leaving signings to the last minute is an absolute disgrace it created an even more toxic situation and has given Riga a near impossible task to hit the ground running.

Tricky one,iIf Clarke plays I suppose he is a natural leader, I would prefer if he was just a squad player tbh and the same goes for McMahon.
