Just watched the game on DAZN. Wealdstone should have been down to 10 men. Around the 36th minute their number 4 and Gordon argue when Wealdstone got a free kick. Their number 4 punches / hits Gordon in the ribs / abdomen
First goal was coming and as the commentary said a beautiful 35 yard screamer from Banks heading in on the line.
Gateshead don't look the same side form a couple of seasons ago. Defensively they're nervous, midfield looks weak and up front there are danger signs but it isn't sticking.
Dale second goal great pass from Banks sublime touch run and cross Fri Devante followed by a good finish from Mani
Just watching on DAZN. Truro look a little weak ability wise and York should easily beat them.
The point to note is that the ground looks like a little wind tunnel. You csn see wind turbines spinning jn the background and the ball is holding up in the air.
The real reason I'm watching is I have family in Cornwall and I'm thinking of going down there when we play them. I can visit family and watch the dale
Anyone with little experience needs o gain experience from somewhere.
With good coaching and guidance there is a chance we could have a little gem on our hands. If it goes wrong we could have a Liz Truss style little gem.
In terms of the contracts offered and the released lists to me its not too bad.
Hogan - no nonsense defender and good cover if played centrally. However, he should not be in the starting 11 if he is played anywhere other than central.
Kelly - hopefully he can push on and make more progress
Mitchell - has potential but on the games I watched as an exile just couldn't be bothered. Good luck to the team who signs him. He has to be one of the most frustrating players I have ever witnessed at Dale
Ferguson - should have been given more opportunity but with the emergence of Beckwith has struggled to get near the team. Good luck to him
Senior - who?
Weston - too similar to East and Gilmour
Kelly - the Benjamin Button of the Dale squad. How is he only 21? Good luck to him
Mann, Bailey and Dunlop - cannot really comment on
My post was worse case scenario. However, without taking into account form 73 points is guaranteed playoff position as I stated. The likelihood is that 69 points will prove sufficient
Hartlepool currently on 56 pts last 4 games involve 4 teams from the top 6 (including Dale) - very 7nlikely to get 8 points tk get above Dale and Dale to get 0.
Tamworth 60 pts - a 'derby' game against Solihull and 2 teams to play in top 8.4 pts behind and unlikely to overturn the points against Forest Green and Altrincham.
Southend 60 pts and only one in top 7 to play. Could end up on 72 points but will therefore take points off Gateshead. 70 pts expected, leaving Dale to get 7 from last 15
Altrincham play us Halifax and Tamworth. Maximum pts 72 likely to less but if they win all 4 then pts off our rivals.
Halifax 64 pts max 76 however as they play Altrincham that means 73 pts is the maximum Dale need to get to the play offs.
As an exile. I watch and pay for games on DAZN. I've also got a countrywide ticket and get up for as many games as I can afford.
Tonight's performance has summed up the season. Promise. So much but deliver nothing.
Mitchell is not a target man. Rodney is wasted out wide. Barlow is also wasted outside. Drop a Barlow into advanced midfield Play either Hendo and Rodany or Mitchell and Rodany upfront.
Final ask, please stop messaging every move from defense
