The only time I ever got to ‘play for QPR’ !
Club v Fans matchplay game at a club in Middlesex.
A player (Steve Palmer, I think) didn’t turn up, so I was chosen to switch to play for the ‘Club’ with the kitman. His name I forget. But Birch & his ‘scratch’ brother, Cook, Rowlands, Ramage all played and Steve Gallen was in the group in front of us, I recall.
Anyway, we halved our match, despite being ‘dormie 1 up’ on the 18th tee. Our 1/2 point was enough to secure a 7&1/2 to 5&1/2 victory, so I felt briefly popular.
Anyway, as claim to fames go….. Carlsberg ! |

Frey, Madsen & Kelman - recovering, should get there before the 2nd game ?
Clarke-Salter - injured, might see him by Xmas.
Colback, Fox, Santos - stalling over contract or being released/sold (Santos)
Varane - could have a knock, could be sold ?
Kolli, Lloyd - looking like being loaned out.

I thought it was £40M ish, but we did some movement of funds/shares to clear half of it (ish), then had to pay the rest over 10 years…..?

Agree, Colback,1 year if on reduced wages, or a pay as you play. Injury prone, but we were better with him in the side.
Fox, bye (IMO), we have CB cover and Larkeche is back as LB cover (for now !)
I guess much depends on Players demands, Managers views and if Eze is sold. And Varane….? |
