Are We Going Toulouse? Match Thread
at 11:04 16 Jul 2025

Had the absolute time of my life during France 98 in Toulouse when England were there to play Colombia.

100-a-side football in the main town square with the church doors as goals and some three-day madness at the packed campsites, particularly when the Dutch turned up. Was superb.

Never been back to Toulouse since and would have loved to make this game, but couldn't make it work...

Madsen interview
at 23:43 15 Jul 2025

I was really pleased last year when I started this thread about Madsen not being totally useless and it took off - showed we’ve got some of the most patient and fair fans going.

https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/forum/320697/5150542/th

No doubt he was absolutely woeful through a lot of last year and struggled to get involved but he also started and finished well and he’s clearly got talent and is a smart guy

Would love him to do well here

Agreed - just saying that Chair has put himself into a unique place (unlike Varane, Nardi etc that we could sell) that means he could conceivably be one of our all-time appearance holders

Would be great to see in a time when a one club player is incredibly rare, and it helps that he’s really good too

After all this time I'd be keen for Chair to do his whole career here now and set some records.

You don't see it anymore and he's been our best player for years, we've just got used to him

I think the time we could have sold him for a decent sum has gone after CoachRockGate

Stéphan Era vs Stevenage
at 22:17 5 Jul 2025

Only caught the second half and yes yes friendlies are essentially a waste of time analysing but for the last few years since Warbs left every friendly I’ve watched seemed to see us getting drubbed by crap teams, so it was a pleasant surprise

It’s also notable that we have a decent squad now for the first time in eons - both teams in each half could conceivably start a Championship game (not you Taylor) so our new Monsieur is going to have some real selection headaches, and that was without the crocked four who have a few starters in there as well

Gaffer's pre-friendly interview
at 23:12 4 Jul 2025

First time I’ve heard him speaking and I like him.

Feels like another smart European manager that gets it, but more austere French instead of our passionate Catalan

If as rumours were true he couldn’t really speak English a year ago he’s pretty articulate!

How optimistic are you now?
at 17:15 1 Jul 2025

I live locally and have young kids, and have been inviting their mates down whenever I can to home games here and there.

100% of the time the kids and their parents say something like "that was way more fun than the Arsenal/Spurs/Chelsea game we went to, and I didn't have to spend the thick end of 200 quid either. Can we come again?"

And that's been at some properly sh*t games as well. If we start doing well-ish I think we'll see an even bigger uptake of young kids. It's good to see.

Same with the away fans, a few years ago the atmosphere in the away end was pretty poisonous but the last two years it's been brilliant

For what it’s worth one of my old mates is now a leading football journalist and I went out on the piss with him last night - he was adamant Eze is going to Spurs

(This is the first and only time I post anything so cravenly ITK I promise)

FFS will we ever get a home Boxing Day game ever again?

Must be decades since the last one.

Used to be a great part of the Xmas routine

Catastrophe, ou formidable? Stéphan steps into Loftus Road hot seat - Column
at 23:47 25 Jun 2025

If we’re looking at two up front I reckon Frey plus either Kolli or the top scorer in the division below
Kelman sounds handy.

Sign one more massive hard barstd and that’s not a bad attack - Kolli is a good finisher and clearly so is Kelman.

Ben Williams announcement?
at 10:04 20 Jun 2025

I binned off Twitter about a year ago as I realised it was actively winding me up on a daily basis (which, of course, it’s designed to do)

I highly recommend it. I feel no less informed but now have no idea of what the idiots and bots of Twitter are wanging on about

Nourry’s clearly not an idiot to get where he is by the age he is. And as others have said his strategy makes sense on paper and he’s obviously trying to copy the best out there.

But he needs a better PR guy.

Thought he was excellent in that final against Brentford, really stood out. Big and strong and liked a tackle

Joe Lumley with his first third choice Prem season with Soton last year, is limbering up nicely for a big cheque no games career as well

Manager situation

One consolation is that those rare seasons where we’re optimistic and looking forward to them usually end up badly (second Prem one, last season)

One’s that seem a bit meh sometimes turn out well (Warnock’s promotion)

old obscure qpr highlights

My first ever game (or the first one I can actually remember)

West Ham had just won the FA Cup and as I was a young kid I decided I was a West Ham fan. God bless him, my uncle John then bought me the full kit for Christmas although that must have hurt. I turned up for this game with my dad and his two brothers in full West Ham kit while all his mates took the piss out of my dad for raising me wrong

3-0 later and i changed my mind and here we are….
