M40 pile up Witnail and I edition - Qpr vs Oxford Match Thread
at 22:05 1 Oct 2025

The second half onslaught ploy didn’t pay dividends tonight. Saito simply didn’t see enough of the ball after he came on.

I wonder who dictated the starting line up? Julien or the sports scientists? Maybe a little of both.

A clean sheet, no new injuries, a point on the board. Three points at Ashton Gate is not beyond the realms. Burrell v Dickie sounds interesting.

A mixture of tweaking for the opposition and squad rotation I think. Still a good starting eleven and you would hope that those who have recently started on the bench want to prove a point.

Possibly, but please go ahead and start the Pour Some Sugar On Me thread.

I thought during pre season that they were talking about JCS returning early 2026. If so he really has returned early. Fingers crossed he gets playing again after the International Break as he is a top defender in our league.

The big city that feels like a small town. The Blues Brothers was filmed there, what more do you want?!

Agree with what the lad from Arkansaw says. The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) trains will take you just about everywhere and there are buses as well. Navy Pier and the River Walk are fun areas.

I am not really into museums but the science museums are fantastic although time consuming. Lots of music venues.

Have a great time!

Same at home to Charlton when Morrison attempted an overhead kick from a corner. As the corner came in a defender had both arms around Morrison holding him back, Ref must have seen it. Stonewall penalty but the vast majority of the time nothing is given.

I am pretty sure the defender half blocked Kone's shot and took the pace off it.

Was thinking the same. The substitutions around the 60 minute mark were pre planned with the sports scientists to protect players.

Hopefully we can assume that this team are more robust and can play ninety minutes.

A potted history, Stoke in the mud edition QPR vs Stoke City Match Thread
at 14:49 20 Sep 2025

A wonderful statement result for the club.

Overall an excellent performance, we weathered the initial Stoke storm and grew in to the game. Better team in the second half, superb first time strike from Vale. He can only get better.

Saito. I was one of those not keen on his return because of the fee but he has come back Saito XXL. Always looking to get forward, a nightmare for defenders and full of energy. Exactly the sort of player we needed.

Thank you Liam Morrison at the end, alert to the danger.

Fantastic team celebrations at the end, a happy squad it seems.

Special mention to Julian Stéphan who has dealt with our bad day at the office in Coventry very well, his team selection, tactics and squad management are working very well.

Urrssss!

Julien Stéphan gives us a strange looking team selection but then the lads give us a 45 minutes like that!

Looking a little dodgy at the back at times making you wonder what could be achieved with Edwards in the team. JCS could come back at an important time.

Been to games in Denver and San Francisco a long time ago, we are talking Elway and Montana! I do enjoy watching it and support these teams. It is a bit strange though when teams up sticks and move to another part of the country.

49ers lost one of their best players with a hamstring injury during the first game.

Agree that we do need a box to box 8 although I don't think we need a false 9.

A decent box to box 8 helps with both the high press and the low block. They can also use the half space and cover an inverted full back.

They can help with an overload, double pivot when the time is right, be quick with a transition, look between the lines especially when the opportunity to recycle presents itself.
