Racist Liverpool fan abuses Semenyo
at 20:32 17 Aug 2025

I’m clearly not a fan of the RS, but one knobhead acting the racist bellend doesn’t represent 50k plus people in a crowd. It happened, it was disgusting and they threw him out.

Nothing more to it.

If the whole crowd was doing it and people tried to defend it, that’s a different story. But that’s not the case.

Return To Southampton First Team Squad Down To Dibling Says Still
at 15:48 14 Aug 2025

Saints are perfectly entitled to ask whatever fee they want for Dibling but I don’t know where they get that valuation from. It looks like it’s only Everton who are willing to go up to their original valuation and then Saints wanted more.

Spurs are in for Eze, an FA Cup winner who is an international and has played at the last Euros.

It will be interesting to see how much Eze is valued at in comparison to Dibling this summer.

Jota Death Typical PL Overkill
at 12:23 14 Aug 2025

Had it been during the season I would expect there to be a minute silence at the first game following the death.

Seems fair enough to do it on the first weekend, showing respect to a player who died far too young.

Grealish to Everton means Dibling stays?

Dibling and Saints would have to have an incredible season for his current value (from Saints) to be maintained. That sort of money isn’t demanded for a championship player.

Even without Grealish, Dibling wouldn’t be guaranteed a starting place. Ndiaye, Alcarez and McNeill would start before him at the minute.

They were in for both of them last week, so I don’t think it changes anything, Dibling wise.

Everton want another six players before the window closes apparently.

The irony being that most of their supporters come from nowhere near the city of Liverpool and haven’t a clue about the city, the poverty, the challenges etc.

They do not represent the city at all despite what they think.

Survey results as reported in the Times

Asylum seekers get £8 per week for personal subsistence such as travel, personal stuff e.g soap, shampoo etc. They also have no recourse to any ESOL classes until six months after their application is made.

I’ve been working in this sector for the past twenty five years. The amount of nonsense that gets puts out the papers and social media has got significantly worse. I’ve spent nine months in the past year in a hotel in the south east. It was (probably still is) a Holiday Inn. All of the remnants of the hotel that it previously was have been stripped off. No gym, no nice reception. Food is brought in by a private company three times a day and is a free for all. Think of an indoor soup kitchen and you’d be right. There are security firm staff everywhere. I’ve honestly worked in more welcoming and supportive prisons.

The one thing that stuck out for me is the eye watering amounts of money that is given to these companies and the disgusting lack of value for money that it represents.

There has to be a review of this as it’s staggering.

Most of them will hand their papers to the scumbags traffickers who they pay to bring them to the UK. Although trying to get hold of papers in countries such as Syria, Afghanistan and Sudan with no existing or dysfunctional governments is also very difficult.

Saints standing their ground over Dibling
at 11:54 5 Aug 2025

The fee being quoted is far too high, for all the reasons in Nick’s post.

However what I am finding odd is the back and forth that is being played out in the media. I can’t see this coming from either club leaking it to the press. It surely comes from the agents who don’t give two hoots about the player but want their greedy cut.

Is there an easier more lucrative job than being a football agent.

It’s nice to see that Rupert Lowe still has some admirers in Southampton.

England's Semi Final

Greenwood is such a liability on the ball, any opposition manager should target her. It’s like watching Harwood Bellis last season.

As for James, she’s a very good player at this level but she is coming across as being quite arrogant and think she’s a world beater.

Will be watching it, more than likely with the sound down. But that’s the same with most of the England games, either men or women.

Oasis & The Real People
at 14:56 11 Jul 2025

I’m going to see them at Wembley in September, looking forward to seeing them, Cast and Richard Ashcroft for the whole event. I’ve seen Oasis before and it’s a good day/night out.

But as you’ve said further down, they are extremely limited, past the second album they are very bland and samey and them claiming to be the best bad going is laughable.

They aren’t in the same league as the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Blur and as others have said, Pulp come back with a cracking new album.

My FB is currently awash with loads of family and friends off to Heaton Park tonight and tomorrow who I had no idea liked Oasis, it’s just an excuse to go out and have the craic and fair do’s.

Leicester new manager - not Dyche but..

Dyche will be primed and ready on the tank when a bottom half of the league team sack their manager early doors.

My money would be on Leeds binning off Daniel Farke.

So far watched Supergrass, Franz Ferdinand and Inhaler, all of which were great. Just watched Pulp who smashed it. The decision to not show Kneecap is just pathetic. As you say Starmer is a tw4t, he’s an embarrassment to the Labour Party, the sniveling little turd.

Just turned on the Ezra Collective and that looked great fun for the crowd.

Anyone going to the Human League tonight?
at 19:18 26 Jun 2025

I was down there today to get a recce of the set up for tomorrow (Ocean Colour Scene, Cast, Echobelly). It looks like the bars inside are open with food outside and the gigs outside with the stage backing onto above bar by Scholars. It looks a decent set up.

Club World Cup

They were thinking of a way of City and Chelsea being able to buy players as they have so many restrictions on them and poor Chelsea have ran out of hotels and women’s team to sell (although they are due to sell their over 75’s walking football team for 100m, to themselves). They were going to do a go fund me. But thankfully FIFA agreed to host a charity fundraiser tournament for them.

Modern football, love it.

I will be following avidly as both clubs get a load of money to add to their swag as they diligently navigate the pitfalls of PSR, representing our great nation in this classy competition before cry arsing like a petulant child when they have to play two domestic games in a week in winter and comparing their plight to modern day slavery.

You’ve got to love modern football.

I’m not a fan of Tuchel, he seems a strange appointment given he barely lasts long at any club he’s been too and England’s success through Southgate was based on building relationships with players over a period of time.

Also not enamored with his comments about picking players who are playing in European competitions. Already sounding like a closed shop and plays into the hands of snidey clubs when hovering around good players at the so called smaller clubs.
