 | Forum Thread | Sheehan Out? Let's all Calm Down. at 13:13 10 Aug 2025
Our Pre-season has been uneventful. And the start of the season is what many of us expected. I won't sit here and go through everything that is right or wrong. But I will say this, we are rebuilding and it's not going to suddenly happen overnight. New players who have come in, need time, we have had alot of injuries, plus there are still gaps in the team that need filling. On top of that we have lost alot of experience in the team. It's madness to see so many people already talking about Sheehan to be sacked. Did they get it wrong yesterday, sure. Will he do it again next weekend, maybe. But let's see where we are at in a few months time. Im impatient as the next person and want results but saying we are going to be a team to go down, come on. [Post edited 10 Aug 13:16]

Very true. I understand no manager will ever win over every fan and I won't ever say that I will stand by Sheehan until the very end, but I hope it comes good for him. I have been vocal about where we are at and I think injuries have played a massive part in pre season performances etc. Was today's game good No. But it wasn't the worse display. Let's get decent striker in, few more players and settle them into the championship. |

100% agree. I'm not gonna sit here and say we played well or bad. There was glimpses of players specifically Inoussa. Casey as well didn't look out of place and I think will be good singing. No disrespect to Arthur Parker, but he looked out of depth when he came in last week, be that it's not his natural position. Casey came on and though didn't do anything amazing, at same time fitted well into the team. Widell will take time to get used to championship, but I think he will come good. Cabango and Eom was not fully fit and did best under circumstances. We all got excited about things with signings, but it's gonna take a few windows for this team and club as a whole to get to where it needs to be. I can spend all the time saying how we got there but we know why and what needs to be fixed. Sheehan needs time. Football is cruel and I hope he can start to show what he brought last season. I fear a few games lost and fans will turn. [Post edited 9 Aug 22:29]

Yeah on Twitter we'll X. Again maybe I'm being thick and reading into something that's not there. Might not even be related to Kone and Wycombe. But curious if anyone, Keith etc knows who this is taking about? |

I'm I reading this completely wrong? I expect I am. Is this in relation to Kone, Wycombe or Leicester? [Post edited 4 Aug 19:35]

If I was the player. I would see it as a challenge. No better time than now, if he feels he can prove himself and although unrealistic, then why not? Get experience with another club, a different system and trying to cement your place in a position held by a Welsh international and captain. |

Sheehan dodged the question when asked in his post match. I really do hope that the club has plans on signing a centre back before start of the season. They have known for weeks now that we are short. |

I have a horrible feeling we have put all eggs in one basket with Kone. What scares me more is how quiet the club has been on Cabango. If he is out for a while then hit the panic button. Get in the loan market and get a defender in asap |

Maybe I'm reading between the lines with comments on this forum but is it looking like Kone will be going to Leicester or other?. Let's hope we have a good back up option and some movement on defense. |

Issue is where do we go from here if Kone doesn't sign? We are desperate for a striker now. If this doesn't go through you can add a few more weeks to more pain on the pitch. |

Maybe it's wishful thinking. I think there is a player there. But he has a uphill battle if we sign Kone. With Cullen preferred over Vipotnik too, it really needs to be his season. |

Stupid Question. Does that mean we are not in for him now then? Has the addition of other clubs jepodised this deal? |

Swansea really must see something in Kone. Didn't Swansea do a similar deal with Blackpool for Yates and Kyle Joseph? Would be weird they are doing the same again π. Let's hope Yates doesn't mess this deal up for us. [Post edited 1 Aug 0:59]

I'll say it now before anyone else does ππ.. We sign him.. He is the next superstar.. He is featured in all of the news... Include Football Focus πππ in a few years time - his story will be how he went from nothing to something and signing with Liverpool after having a brilliant 2 seasons with Swansea.. You heard it here first πππ€£ |

I'm sure there is a ton examples of this happening at clubs, but correct me if I'm wrong this happened to some extent with Klopp when he came into Liverpool. Players doing endless extreme sessions and then players picking up injuries and looking dead on their feet. I understand the longterm goal of doing what O'Dea is doing but it's gonna be another transitional period for us this season. |
