Although they are in the Isthmian League, I've read that Chatham are operating as a fully professional club this season. What that will cost in wages is anyones guess. I'm assuming that their owner has very deep pockets & hopefully it won't go wrong for them if the owner leaves. |

I was very pleased with Tuck & Pearman. Both looked very confident & comfortable at the heart of midfield. Does anybody know why the Tuck goasl was disallowed? |

It had to be planned that way as the list of penalty takers & the order of taking them is given to the referee before the penalties start. Everybody seems to be praising Kelly & Bronze for their penalties but ignoring Russo. Her's was unstopable as well! |

Have you never looked for another job while employed? Have none of your family or friends looked for another job while employed? If they did, did you accuse them of disloyalty? I certainly applied for other jobs . As did all of my colleagues, including senior management. Not one of us would have considered it as being disloyal. Was Nourry disloyal to his employers when he was appointed at Queens Park Rangers? Personally, I'm pleased that the episode has come to an end & hope that we've not made a really stupid decision. Like 99% of players & management staff that leave us, I'm indifferent to how Cifuentes does at Leicester, but I thank him for his achievements for us. [Post edited 16 Jul 10:17]

I understand your point & have often thought that "add ons" are of little (or any) value, but that applies whether you are the seller ot buyer. It is one of the reasons why they can't be included in the accounts. For instance, in Rangers case, we might not receive any extra for Eze, Armstrong etc, but we're not likely to be paying out more for Celar or Madsen either. The one thing I would query is whether the buying club would increase their initial offer if "add ons" were not included. If they currently value player x at £2 million, why would they offer more than that amount to purchase them? [Post edited 15 Jul 18:10]

I still don't understand how we received a penny for Sinclair Armstrong. Getting anything for Dykes & Armstrong last summer was the best selling business this club has achieved for many a year! Back to Kolli, I've read many a post refer to accepting a "decent" offer for him. What is meant by decent? At his age & experience, if he was with another club, what limit would you put on Rangers paying for him? I suspect that would be a far lower figure than what the club would accept for him. Personally, I would consider £1 million as decent, but then, what I think our players are worth is often/always lower than what I see posted by others! |

Clive has constantly stated that things went awry between Cifuentes & nourry last summer & that there no possibility of Cifuentes being here this season. I would be interested in how he has presented that he could realistically be here this season. Perhaps you can explain? I've also yet to see a word that has criticised Nourry for Cifuentes "now being at Leicester". Maybe our perception of posts is very different? EDIT I've now seen that Beans has answered these questions [Post edited 13 Jul 13:34]

According to Chelmsford City X, Halliday was in goal in the first half. They name our starting eleven, but give no information on any changes. |

Thankfully Dunne will be at right back, but I didn't think any of our centre halves looked anywhere like good enough today. I'm sure that will change though. We definitely don't have the players to play 4-4-2! |

A 2-0 win for Rangers. It must have been better entertainment than watching the senior squad this morning! |

It was won 5, drew 1 & lost 1, although the highest opposition was our last friendly where we drew against Plymouth. |

Looking at it individually, no pre season result is important, but the performance is! These games are to build fitness, belief & momentum. Today would not have helped any of those areas! |

Palace could go a lot further in this competition than the other one. After all, West Ham managed to win it recently! |

I saw Dulwich Hamlet play in this kit back in the 60's, so it isn't a new innovation! Personally I don't mind it, but it's only a football kit that will be around for one year. I suspect that it will be our biggest seller though. |

More resources to hand? That remains to be seen, especially as they may receive up to a 12 points deduction & are desperate to sell players. |

Surely, if you write "no offence", you must know that it is a possibility that the person you reply to will take offence? Not that I'm saying that any offence was taken. Only the poster you replied to will know if there was. [Post edited 9 Jul 20:07]

I'm not sure why this thread has been resurrected after four years! He left Hemel in 2022 & has just joined Bedford Town after making 11 appearances for Oxford City last season. |
