RIP Gordon Jago
at 09:24 7 Jul 2025

Just before my time, but his DNA ran through the team I first watched in 1977 as a spotty 13yr old, and got me hooked.

Thanks for the memories and the legacy Gordon.

RIP Mr Jago

Saw them at Wembley circa 2008/09 absolutely pony. My mate got tickets for the Heaton Park gig on the 19th. Even if they’re pony again - it’s a low bar, Richard Ashcroft is supporting - saw his Stevenage Borough gig end of May - absolutely fantastic performance, the fella is a legend in my book.

Should be a cracker of a weekend tho.

God, how awful. I can't begin to imagine how his poor parents can process losing two sons - absolutely heartbreaking, his wife, kids and family - beyond devastating. Weeks into his marriage, everything going for him in life and gone in seconds.

RIP Diogo & Andre.

This is similar to the ex Arsenal striker Juan Antonio Reyes crash a few years ago, again in Spain, high performance Mercedes him and his cousin die in the resulting fire.

Mine too. Remember seeing The French Connection as a kid and from that moment I was a fan.

Ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?

RIP Gene.

What a life, and what a period to have lived it. She'd seen it all, pretty much experienced it all, and managed to survive it and go on to produce some great music - that voice told it all without saying it.

Feel exactly the same. Complete lack of imagination - how do they get these gigs?

The north are crying out for a revamp of their crumbling infrastructure and train network, would go some way to "leveling up".

Lifetime Labour voter (not last time mind) but this lot are shocking.

What terrible news, 61 is no age. Reading that FT piece and seeing the pictures, his is a face I certainly remember seeing in, and around the loft when I had a season ticket in the UL.

Condolences to his family and friends on their loss.

RIP Andrew

Where Are They Now?

When I used to frequent Ellerslie Rd and Rufus would be playing at left back right in front of us there was one bloke who used to like to scream "go on the turbo, give it some boost son" when Rufus ventured up the line. Always made me chuckle.

Rufus Brevit, the Ford Escort RS Turbo of players.

He was quick though.

Mel Johnson Interview - now on the Patreon
at 21:25 4 Dec 2024

Spent yesterday "WFH" and listening to this, a fantastic interview with Mel. Rose-tinted specs, sands of time and all that, yeah I know we were skint, shaking buckets, but those players, the management team, the staff and the fans, all in it together - the best of times and the worst of times. The club on its arse but it brought out the best in people - all of those involved with the club pulling together and felt like they cared, and it showed. Mel recounting his time with us reminded me of those days and what a special group that was.

Forgot to add, thanks for getting that interview Clive!
