resting players for Cup games
at 12:41 13 Aug 2025

I’m afraid the club didn’t care enough about the result. All a bit weird. Hopefully it’s all part of the latest master plan! I’ll reserve judgment for a bit longer.

Who was this disaster down to tonight....
at 22:36 12 Aug 2025

So
It was down to the “process” or system ( as outlined at the fans forum)
On the rare occasions they cover Development Squad games online, the stress is always that it’s not really about the result, it’s all about the process.
Trouble is, when we fork out our money, and give our passion to support, it’s entirely about the result.
Feel really sorry for the guys who went, and for all the boys on the pitch. None of them deserve an ounce of criticism.
The difference was the deliberate lack of any experience to bring on and the decision to sub Burrell at half time. I think we could have achieved something great against a very well motivated side. Such a pity..so I spose its down to Nourry whose pulling the analytical strings.
Now if the transfer speculation comes through, tonight’s shambles can be seen more calmly in the broader context..a serious punt at the top 6.

Couple of early StephanBall observations/musings/kneejerks
at 10:20 10 Aug 2025

Excellent stuff….very useful analysis. One thing I noticed was the clever move at the first kick off..better than the traditional big boot wide right. One thing..was the Preston goal a rehearsed routine? If so, genius in its simplicity and one to consider in future games….whoever has the corner!

Who did you nearly support…?
at 10:13 10 Aug 2025

Like several on here. No choice. Thanks Dad…and my two sons the same. My tiny grandson could be tricky as his dad supports Liverpool, but in all honesty he’s much more passionate about Bath Rugby so I’ve got a chance!

Plymouth are also having a few issues, so possibly a good time to play them. Might be a good game.

Squad numbers out

But some numbers ( eg 14,15,18) not taken yet. Plus why does Varanne have 40? Maybe I’ve missed something?

Probably my first favourite player. A proper character. Not many of the League Cup winners left now.

Well done to all involved!
Not finished yet but very creditable performances. One of our ladies teams is in the final, and our Dev squad just got beaten in the semis. Were very competitive against a decent Corinthians team who were far from Casual! ( one for the oldies).
Fun to watch ( once I remembered the time difference!) and well done to the club for providing the info and link. Just wish they would do this more often for the Dev squad games.

And for playing without shorts for a few moments. A true original who gave me loads of pleasure and a few laughs.

Dave Cousins lays down for good
at 10:15 21 Jul 2025

Oh no.
The first LP I ever bought that was stereo was the Strawbs first release. The sound was amazing.
I got into them via a programme that featured them on BBC2 amazingly with an unknown mime artist …..David Bowie!
A few years back they did a free session at my wife’s special school as they supported an autism charity. Dave and co signed all my albums! Confirmed it was Bowie and that Rick Wakeman hated his photo on one of the covers and got it changed. Mines the ugly one!
I will listen to Benedictus again in his honour.

Presumably a special deal at Sainsbury’s. I’ve just had an offer to get £9 off with a token if completed this week. Very happy to lend my card.

Unless I’ve missed something there was no match thread. Good job too!
I can’t have been the only person who suffered watching that jolly shambles. I only watched bits but oh my my..goal number three said it all.
Does anyone want to share their observations?

Pete and Dud.

Just watched “The Wrong Box” . Think it was Film 4? Pete and Dud are in it and have their moments, also a young Michael Caine and various others, but the stand out was Peter Sellers. Really unusual to find a film from that era that not only made me laugh out loud but also with almost none of the more embarrassing tropes of that time.

I think you’ll find there are millions of people who do care passionately. I don’t think anyone has the right to make judgment on behalf of the rest of the football world. Football inspires passion in all of us…men and women. Now quite why so many get passionate about their Premier league team that expects to win week in week out..well that’s another matter.
