| News Comment | Olympic Torch To Visit St Mary's at 15:17:09
I preferred last season's line up. Why would you want to watch Saints play another English side they'll be playing twice next season and some skint Scottish outfit when last year you were able to see the team that made the Europa League final? I went last year but I'm not sure I'll bother this time. I was going to take the father in law (Arsenal fan) and Miss Y but the Saints v Arsenal match won't kick off until past her bedtime. I enjoyed it last year but think it's worse this time around. |
| News Comment | Oh When The Saints Is Not A Spurs Song ! at 16:11:30
Are we your rivals again now then?! I don't remember Spurs fans singing OWTS when we last visited so it seems to be a recent occurrence. Arry nearly sent Bale out on loan as he was a bad luck charm for Spurs to begin with. Prospects like Bale are ten a penny down here but you'll have to pay a lot more to get them now and we won't be flogging off our sell-on clause for a pittance this time either. |
| News Comment | Top Ten Facts About Leeds at 12:53:04
I went to uni in Leeds. One of my mates was from Wakey and one of his mates laughed at me once for wearing a t-shirt under a shirt on a night out. Northerners are a bit funny about stuff like that. I like Leeds. |

It's time to enter the loan market. Lambert and Connolly in particular can't keep playing two games a week. If we're there or thereabouts come January then money will probably be made available but the good start is showing signs of slipping. We haven't had a striking option off the bench for ages FFS! Connolly was injured for much of last season and Barnard's not available. Guly and De Riddler aren't strikers. It might seem a bit of a knee jerk reaction but Saints have been dropping points after a cracking start and won't stay top for long at this rate. Moan, moan, moan... |

I hope he likes writing kids' books because he won't be playing much football for the foreseeable future! |
| News Comment | Will Saints Break Their Transfer Record ?. at 08:06:51
An attempt to splurge £3m on Billy Sharp is not the act of a club in financial trouble so either Saints have financial backing or they're counting on receiving money for Oxo. Mr Adkins has been playing with Pardew's team except for one or two loanees so I expect Cortese to give him a transfer kitty this summer. I suspect we'll see a few new players coming in (and a couple going out) in July. Mills could be a makeweight for Sharp and Vaughan is leaving Blackpool so they might be back for Puncheon. It could be a busy few weeks now everyone's back from holiday. I just hope Saints can manage a decent start with three points against Dirty Leeds. |
| News Comment | Saints Need To Hold Steady at 08:41:58
I think Saturday showed that this team have backbone and strength in depth. I wish I could be there tomorrow night but I skipped a work conference so I could be around for Miss Y's birthday so I can't go to SMS and I'm too nervous to listen to it on Saint Player. Charlton are a tough side for Saints to beat but this is one of the games in hand and Saints need to close the gap on Huddersfield and hope Peterborough can give them problems on Saturday. |
| News Comment | Saints At Peterborough The Verdict at 22:31:22
Can't you edit these? I agree with most of Nick's article. Davis, Seaborne and Harding were poor and Saints had several chances to clear before the ball struck Oxo. I thought Chaplow had a really good game but the dive was a letdown. I think events like that can spur the opposition and make the ref even things up. That ref was clearly obsessed with penalties. The conditions were difficult and Saints have a decent away record. It's the slip ups at home that have really cost them so far. A win against Carlisle will get them back on track. I think it could come down to the play offs but I still believe Saints will go up this season. |
| News Comment | Missing ! Four Thousand Saints Fans at 12:58:07
I was expecting to see more from Saints and Colchester so maybe the traffic had something to do with it. The M3 was stop-start from Basingstoke at 9.30 so I hate to think what it was like at 12pm! |
| News Comment | Markus Liebherr - Your Tributes at 22:17:05
He seemed like a generous and genuine man and if it wasn't for him Saints might not be around now. I hope he enjoyed being a Saint. He certainly seemed to embody the spirit of Southampton even though his association with the club was too short. I'll always be grateful for what he did for the club in it's hour of need. |
