Zuiverloon Could Extend Stay With Town Tuesday, 21st Dec 2010 10:01 by TWTD.co.uk Town are keen to extend Gianni Zuiverloon’s stay at Portman Road, according to reports in the Midlands. The West Brom right-back’s initial month with the Blues is up on January 4th. Zuiverloon has increasingly impressed during his time with Town after a difficult first game at Norwich and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Blues were looking to keep him for longer. A further loan looks more likely than a permanent deal with manager Roy Keane having previously conceded that the former Holland U21 international’s price might be too high: “I think he went to West Brom for £3.2 million and put it this way, I don’t think we’d pay that for a full-back. I don’t think we’d pay that for a striker at the moment.” The 23-year-old recently told Dutch magazine Voetbal International that he hoped to win a move to another Premier League club by doing well with the Blues: “I’m short on match action and I want to be fit when a club is interested in me in January. That was the main reason for me choosing to come to Ipswich Town.” However, when he signed in late November, the former Heerenveen man left the door open to a longer-term stay in Suffolk: “The loan is until January and then we will see what happens. You never know in football." Zuiverloon, contracted until next summer although with West Brom having the option of a further year, has so far made four appearances for the Blues, all at right-back, and is yet to score a goal.
