Not one but two Jermaine
Not one but two Jermaine "men" heading for West Yorks!

Rumour has it that we are trying to grab Spurs fallen star Jermaine Jenas on a emergency loan deal, however it seems more likely that an old favourite who shares the same name is heading back north.

Jenas, who now is 29 and has suffered loss of form and injury in recent times is apparently interesting Neil Warnock. I'm sure there are many players in the same bracket however it is unlikely we have the financial clout to pay Premiership wages which those who peddle this nonsense tend to forget!

Our esteemed chairman Ken Bates made a passing mention in his Blackburn programme notes about unwanted players currently costing £2m a season, presumably he is on about the likes of Rachubka and Ramon Nunez. In addition he also made reference to the cost of paying injured players plus their treatment, as it's not as if we can send them to A&E! Ironically Nunez was crocked in a "Development" squad game last week and faces a long spell out with a knee injury.

So unless Spurs are prepared to pay a hefty chunk of his wages, in a bid to get him fit and in the transfer shop window, I think there is more chance of signing Jermaine's Dad Denis Jenas, who I used to watch playing local non-league football in the Midlands......thirty years ago!

One player who seems certain to move to West Yorkshire is Jermaine Beckford, who is being linked with a switch to Huddersfield Town who need a replacement for Jordan Rhodes.

Beckford apparently nearly joined the Dog Botherers on transfer deadline-day and even arrived in Huddesfield, but was two minutes late according to one report. Obviously he enjoyed his best spell with us under Simon Grayson.

I would be sad to see Becks move to that miserable, resentful, hateful rabble down the A62. He got a fantastic reception when he came back with Leicester last season, however I might forgive him if he plays so poorly again!

I still cannot believe that Huddersfield got £8m from Blackburn for Rhodes, puts our £3m for Robert Snodgrass to Norwich in the chicken feed category.

Maybe if we do get shot of Bates, the first thing the new owners could do for us is to headhunt the Huddersfield staff who deal with transfers?

Warnock is right! Where would he get the money from. Bates doesn't have it or won't part with it - game over.
