Alan Tate was signed on loan from Man Utd back in 2002; he was a major force in helping keeping Swansea in the league. He went back to Man Utd at the end of that season but always stated how much he loved Swansea and how he would like to come back one day.
Tate then had another loan spell in November last year for one month but then signed permanently at the turn of the year, Tate is a very good centre back and maybe needs a bit of experience along side him but hopefully he will be excellent at the back for us this season.

"One of the hero's of 2002/2003, solid defender, who at his best, can shut out any player on the park. Again, can be found to be wanting, or too casual... big things are expected of Tate, next Swansea captain?!? Got all the credentials to be amazing!"
