![]() Monday, 28th Jul 2008 21:06 Jan Poortvliet wants more belief. Jan Poortvliet is looking for his young side to find more belief in front of goal, after good workouts against Celtic and Cheltenham, the head coach has been impressed by the build up, but less so with the finishing. At Hereford though he is likely to put out another mixed side as he looks to get games under the belt for players and learn more about them, however it seems that like the fans he is concerned about who will bag the goals next season. Of course with the season less than two weeks away Poortvliet would probably have liked to have seen a few more departures from St Mary's thus frreing up some much needed wages for more pressing departments, especially full backs. But Poortvliet will know that this is the last game of mixing and matching, against West Ham he will need to be playing something approaching his starting line up and then fine tuning it against Stoke four days later, the result at Hereford wont matter much whatever the score, but the following two pre season friendlies will point the way for the season, although defeat isnt the end of the World Poortvliet will want to see that his methods are starting to work.
