The lines of communication are about to burn out if the latest rumours are to be believed.

The one with the most credence and more staying power than the rest seems to be the one regarding the Fulthorpe consortium, this has been predicted to be the big one for several months now, the only thing stopping it being that no one seems to have actually proved that the money is available, let alone laid it on the table.

Linked with this are the stories that Alan Shearer himself will be returning to his first club to lead us to glory in the style of Kevin Keegan, I have to say that I myself have always suspected that Jan Poortvliet wasnt the last piece in the jigsaw, but I have to question appointing Alan Shearer.

Next rumour out of the blocks is the one about Gordon Strachan leaving Celtic and returning to St Mary's, whether this is part of the fulthorpe deal or something Lowe is trying to pull off was unclear from the scrawl written on the wall, however I would be surprised if this one came off, although Im reliably informed that it will on Friday 

So once again we Saints fans have no option but to sit back and wait, who knows by the time you read this, the news might already have broke and we might now be the richest club South of Birmingham
