Swansea City will have two new faces at Exeter tomorrow afternoon after both Thomas Butler and Kevin Amankwaah completed their medicals and sealed moves to the Liberty Stadium.
Wideman Butler and defender Amankwaah are straight into the squad for the friendly at Exeter on Saturday just one week before the start of the real business against Cheltenham on August 5.
The signings were both completed late this afternoon for a combined fee in excess of £250,000.
"We've been working hard on these signings and I'm pleased to say Swansea City now has two more quality players in its squad,'' confirmed chairman Huw Jenkins.
"Butler is a player with great attacking potential who is determined to kick-start his career again after losing his way a bit since leaving Sunderland.
"And in Amankwaah we have a strong, committed player who can not only defend well but also loves to go forward. Kenny (Jackett) is delighted with the signings and feels both players will prove huge assets to the club.''
Butler was always set to leave Hartlepool following their relegation from League One last season but Amankwaah was offered extended terms to stay at Huish Park but decided that the Liberty Stadium was a better option for him and he teams up with former Yeovil players Darren Way and Rory Fallon who spent some time on loan with the Glovers.
Both players have an excellent chance of league debuts against Cheltenham and those travelling to Exeter tomorrow should get their first chance to see them in action. |
