Reports in the media are suggesting that Saints have opened talks with Belgium club Anderlecht over teenage prodigy Samuel Bastien.

Media outlets including the Daily Mail are suggesting that Saints are already in talks about signing 19 year old midfielder Samuel Bastien from Anderlecht.

Bastien spent last season on loan at Italian Serie B club Avellino and has been linked with Liverpool amongst others.

He has not played much for Anderlecht but is highly rated and the fee quoted for Saints to buy him is around £4 million.

Bastien is an attacking skilful midfielder and has already played for the Belgium U21 side, but his track record suggests that he is a player that we would sign to be in and around the squad for a year or two and be looking to gain that experience to enable him to make a big breakthrough, so from that point of view not the most major of our summer signings should it happen, at least not just yet.
