The last player to score a hat-trick for the Rams should feature in this match.

Whether you think that’s Nathan Ellington or Arturo Lupoli depends on what status you give to Ellington’s extra time heroics against Lincoln.

Lupoli’s Hat-trick against Wrexham was all scored in regular time during his loan from Arsenal. He’s now on loan at Norwich from Fiorentina. His career seems to have gone in fits and starts since his time at Derby. Currently the Canaries leading scorer, He’s yet to play for Fiorentina and spent last season out on loan at Treviso. At 21, he’s yet to achieve the promise he showed as a youth team player at Arsenal but no doubt he’s hoping Norwich can be a springboard to better things. Lupoli told the Canaries website "I am very happy to be here and hope to contribute for a great season for Norwich City and to be successful. I spoke to the Manager and I really feel that he wants me here. I know a lot about Norwich City - I was with Arsenal when they and my teammate David Bentley were in the Premier League and have followed their progress."

The Canaries have drawn a blank in their last two games and currently it on ten points in the Championship table.

That shortage of goals in the last few games has seen the Canaries take Leroy Lita on loan from Reading. Glenn Roeder commented: "I can't tell you how pleased I am to be able to secure the loan signing of Leroy Lita from Reading. He has a fantastic goalscoring record in the Premier League and the Championship and he is someone that I believe will take the chances that we have been creating but not converting."

Norwich have nine players on loan however only 5 are allowed in the match day squad. It’s reported that Jonathan Grounds has been recalled by Middlesbrough and that Dejan Stefanovic is suspended for two games so the Canaries may face a defensive crisis for the Rams visit on Saturday

The Rams

Five games unbeaten for the Rams - these are heady days following the disappointment of last season. Were made to work hard against a well organised Birmingham side but I thought we deserved at least a point.

Paul Jewell agreed ""I think for effort, determination and guts we deserved something from the game. We showed great character. We didn't create millions of chances but I don't think they did. If we can add a bit of creativity to our game then we'll definitely be heading in the right direction."

The trick there is the creativity. Our strikes have scored two league goals between them. There are suggestions that Hulse and Ellington are not good enough but more astute watchers have noticed that whoever is in the striker position is often dragged back into midfield in an attempt to win the ball. There are few good crosses coming in and the killer ball isn't there.

Commons was bought in to provide the bullets for the strikers but injury has curbed his contribution. Nacer Barazite and Stephen Pearson have worked hard but both seem to struggle to provide more than one or two good balls per game. that said Barazite is improving and if he had the confidence to run at defenders, may find he's getting into more dangerous positions. The same could be said of Stephen Pearson. A couple of good runs into the box failed as his confidence fell. I think that if he started hitting the ball more first time he might score more than he misses.

Derby's scorer on Wednesday Paul Davies was relieved to be on the scoresheet and even claimed it was his best ever goal. Jewell may be thinking of starting Davies against the Canaries - particularly if Commons is still out. One player definitely out is Martin Albrechtson who picked up an injury early on. "Martin's going for a scan, so we don't know the extent of it, but he certainly won't be playing on Saturday"; said Paul Jewell. Hopefully it wont be one of these long mystery injuries that Derby are so good at.

Mick’s team: Carroll, Connolly, Nyatanga, Leacock, Stewart, Barazite, Addison, Green, Davies, Ellington, Villa

What the Bookies think

Norwich are favourites with William Hill at the slightly bizarre odds of 23/20. The draw is at 11/5 While you can get 19/10 on the Rams. You can get 7/1 on Arturo Lupoli as first scorer while William Hill haven’t even bothered to give odds on Leroy Lita. Rob Hulse is the favourite Ram to score at 13/2. You can get 66/1 on a Lupoli Hat-trick.

Information for travelling fans

Driving: it's 170 long miles to Carrow Rd. The RAC recommend taking the M1 to J19 and then heading east on the A14 until Cambridge where you join the A11 to Norwich. In Norwich he ground is well signposted from the A11 and A47. From the A47 take the A146 and at the traffic lights turn right and follow the outer ring road: Left at the roundabout. Right at the next lights. Follow the inner ring road round to the right, over the river and the ground is on your right.

Parking: Footballgroundguide.com recommends parking at Norfolk County Hall, which is on the left of the A146, as you head towards the ground. You need to get there early to ensure a space

Drinking: There seems to be a move towards preventing away fans drinking this year with pubs not being welcoming to fans in colours. Footballgroundguide.com recommends most of the pubs between the train station and the ground particularly the 'Compleat Angler', which is by the river opposite the railway station

Mick’s prediction

If we can get it together up front there's nothing to fear from any team in this league and we can win. That said, Norwich are no pushover and with Lita and Lupoli up front they have pace - one thing we lack. I wouldn't be surprised at another draw.
