Refwatch: Rochdale v Maidenhead United
Wednesday, 20th Mar 2024 10:06 by TVOS

Dale’s first-ever home game against Maidenhead United will be refereed on Saturday by DALE BAINES.

That’s right, Dale will be refereed by Dale!

The Liverpool official is in his first full season refereeing in the National League, but he does have significant footballing pedigree in that he is the brother of former Wigan and Everton defender Leighton Baines, who made 582 appearances at club level before retiring in 2020.

Dale has taken charge of 12 games in the National League so far this term, including our 3-2 win at Hartlepool United at the end of October.

He has also refereed three League Two fixtures as trial matches to assess his suitability for promotion, in addition to Maidenhead’s FA Cup first round tie at Oxford United in November.

If we win all 6 of our remaining games, that will put us on 73 points, which more often than not is enough to secure a spot in the playoffs in this league. I understand it's unlikely, given that we weren't exactly convincing in our wins against Woking and Maidenhead, but you never know about https://geometrydash-lite.com

The first match at home and the referee with the same name is officiating, there is something "special" about it! Hopefully it will be a memorable day for Dale! Oh, and while it's still before the ball rolls, if anyone has time, try this game for a bit of entertainment: solar smash
