Swansea City extremely unhappy with leaked news on Hellberg link Thursday, 17th Apr 2025 22:14 by Liam Walters After weeks of speculation an account on Twitter has named Kim Hellberg the Hammarby head coach as of interest to the Swans. Some people will be questioning why after the success current interim, Alan Sheehan has had, saving the club from relegation which was his brief from the start. For the record we doubt Hellberg is anywhere near a job offer and if there are any inquiries ongoing it will be to source the costs involved. He is under contract at Hammarby, he will most certainly want his own team around him, then there are his salary demands. Our information is it could run into around one and a half million pounds. And all this whilst a head coach is at the club on a fantastic run and has fulfilled all desires to keep the Swans safe in the Championship. Swans next permanent manger to be named soon exclusive. ⚽️ Decision coming sooner than you think The name Kim Hellberg has been known for many weeks, by some, and today a well thought of Twitter account took the leap of faith and named him, but his name has been on social media for a few weeks. We did our research weeks ago. But compromising people isn’t our thing, the fact you read Swansea news elsewhere will always have good reasoning behind it. (Not saying this disclosure is not well thought out ) But the club are now searching extensively for the leak, only a handful of people knew. Those that follow us daily and there are thousands will testify to that. However, the timing of this the day before a game, the effect on the club which is now in disorientation as a result, plus we can add Alan Sheehan is extremely unhappy. Whoever divulges information on social media does have an obligation and has to think about the consequences. Not saying anyone is right or wrong with this, but we have a keen focus on cause and effect when armed with this type of information. The information below is an example, you can be careful with what you know when reporting it.There are ways of explaining what you know without causing any distress. For more context which is what we are all about this followed. Most of our readers desire far more than basic information. That’s why we fill that space with information that people want to read. Everyone has a role when reporting on the Swans. On Hellberg this isn’t a job interview, we have made it clear over recent weeks that formal interviews ‘are not the Swansea way’ these days. A period of getting to know you chats will have taken place. Richard Montague has headed up a lot of this with the boards blessing. Whether he and a colleague are going to follow this through now after the information is now public is in question. Hellberg will not be travelling to Swansea, that’s now confirmed. We do know now that there will be a painstaking search to find out where this news has come from. Alan Sheehan on the eve of an important game is exceptionally upset not because he doesn’t know the way the club operate but the fact the news is public. Twitter accounts especially are not slow on putting information forwards which can have an effect on the club, sometimes it works and on other occasions it doesn’t. We should welcome upcoming accounts who divulge Swans news, but as we state below there has to some consideration on the effect on people, the club and in this case Alan Sheehan. Big game build up tomorrow. Although certain people (especially now and again visitors to this site) will never understand the ethics behind declaring information publicly, it seems being first is a big thing with certain egos who know not a lot about managing information. We have to mention as well as we so often have to that peoples lives, jobs, positions and livelihoods are not worth putting in jeopardy just for kudos. That isn’t how journalism works and never has. We protect ourselves so even high court orders won’t affect our relationships. It’s the way we work, and a reminder that sometimes ‘News’ cannot be put on the Indy because people and their families come first ![]() Photographs : Swansea Independent Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
