Southampton Midfielder Set For Move Medical On Tuesday Monday, 11th Aug 2025 16:19 Saints are set to offload a midfielder to Spain with the player travelling to Spain to have a medical with Real Betis. The latest news out of St Mary's as revealed by footballleagueworld.co.uk is that Saints are about to loan out central midfielder Daouda Traore to Spanish side Real Betis. The Frenchman who only turned 19 last month joined Southampton on transfer deadline day last year from OGC Nice and was immediately loaned out to one of the other clubs in the Sport republic stable Valenciennes. Now he is heading to Spain and almost a year since joining is still yet to play a game in Southampton colours. He is however highly rated at the club and they see his move to Spain as a genuine chance to play first team football, something that he would be highly unlikely to do at St Mary's at the moment with the likes of Flynn Downes, Will Smallbone & Shea Charles ahead of him in the pecking order even if Matteus Fernandes was to leave. Presumably there will be a loan fee involved in this meaning that Saints will probably already be approaching breaking even on the fee they paid for him a year ago said to be in the region of £500k All Photos Via Reuters Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
