Southampton In For Manchester City Full Back

It seems that Will Still is no happy with his options for the right back spot at St Mary's and when Saints need a player they head to Manchester City and the latest reports suggest that we have opened talks with them already.

the72.co.uk is claiming that Southampton have approached Manchester City in regard to their right back Issa Kabore.

Unlike some of the players we have signed from the former Premier League Champions, Kabore is not an inexperienced youngster, he is 25 years old and has experience out on loan with KV Mechelen in the Belgium Jupilo Pro League, Troyes & Marseille In France, Luton in the Premier League in 2023/24, Benfica in Portugal & in the latter half of last season Werder Bremen in Germany.

That is some CV, 5 European top flight leagues plus appearances in Europe in the Champions League, in fact of all the clubs he has been associated with the only one he hasn't played for has been his parent club Manchester City, mind you he has been out on loan for most of the time since joining them in 1019.

The report goes on to say that whether this will be a permanent of loan deal is still in discussion, if it was to be permanent then transfermarkt have his valuation as low as around £4 million, lower than his top value just over a year ago when his loan spell at Luton ended.

Last season he initially joined Benfica in Portgugal, but didn't get much game time there and subsequently joined Werder Bremen on loan for the second half of the season.

Now City are looking to move him on again and at age 24, they will perhaps feel that he won't break through to their first team now and are prepared to listen to offers, it seems Southampton are interested and there are shades of Kyle Walker- Peters here, who initially joined Saints on loan with an option to buy.
