Southampton Reported To Have Won The Fight For Brazilian Winger

Saints have been linked with Heidenheim's Leo Scienza, but Paris FC came in with a late bid for the player, however it seems that the magnificence of the Civic Centre clock tower has proved to be more attractive than the bright lights of the Eiffel Tower.

Leo Scienza is on his way to the South Coast as we speak according to givemesport.com who are quoting Sky Sports reporter Patrick Berger.

"EXCL: Southampton are set to sign Leo Scienza (26/) – the English side and Heidenheim are still negotiating but are close to agreeing a deal worth €8–10m. The player is on his way to the UK now. Leo said YES to the Saints."

Scienza is by trade a winger but can also play down the centre of the park as a number 10.

Saints had to fight off a late bit from Paris FC who returned to the top tier of French football after a 46 year absence.

It now seems that the player will be a Saints player at some point today and will offer Will Still a much needed wide attacking option.

18 taxis so far this summer with Bree and Taylor to follow? This has been one hell of a clearout, much to the relief of Saints fans. What about Joe Aribo? Surely he must go before 7pm? No excuses from now on, promotion must be the ultimate aim.
