Martin Hodge news is put to bed, but what’s the ‘Worth’ in recruitment ? Tuesday, 23rd Sep 2025 08:00 by Keith Haynes Recent news coming out of the more desperate and uninformed outlets that report on Swansea City are talking up the return of Martin Hodge who left the club in October of last year. What we can report this morning is that the Swans have not been in touch with anyone at Hull City for Martin’s services, and as it stands there is no intention to do so. This almost takes us back to the summer transfer window where so many players were linked by many of these outlets who are now reporting on Martin Hodge - which at the end of that period we just asked ‘where are these players then’ ? Put them into our search engine, you will find them all dealt with by these pages. Hodges role as Head Of Recruitment became slightly lost in the reconstruction of the club at that time (October 2024) with moves behind the scenes bringing in new board members, a change of the majority ownership and finance into the club a prime concern. Not only that - behind the scenes Hodge was more than aware that a sea change would be happening in recruiting and the way players are located and managed into the club. It made sense for him and indeed helped pave the the way for Richard Montague in time. Adam Worth who has the role as global head of analytics has been in that role at Swansea since October as well. Yesterday a Wales based outlet (yes them) were questioning what Adam Worth looks like (why?) stating he is a mystery man involved as a prime mover and shaker within the club (ridiculous) Obviously because of their lack of journalistic drive they make up all manner of speculation about someone who is quite simply a Head Of Recruitment, we had to smile. What they are basically doing is called doxxing. It’s an attempt to find out a persons whereabouts, information, pictures. literally anything and then use it for news purposes. The term comes from ‘document’ in its oldest form. An exposé if you like. It’s viewed as ‘suspect’ to say the least and yesterday’s example of this was almost requesting people to contact them. Especially in Adam Worth’s case. Why would a non public facing role deserve so much attention ? Is it because a story has been published (or made up) and a touch of mystery added that will always suck some people in ? Maybe they should review their recent contact with a certain individual and do some background research on them ? If after making up a story about a mystery man why aren’t they asking about Keith English, Paul Meller or Todd Marcelle ? These aren’t public facing figures regards Swansea matters, but they are decision makers on the club board. Odd isn’t it ? And proves again there is an agenda here. The same outlet, specifically the one based in Cardiff we refer to seems to be doing a hatchet job on Swansea City at the moment. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed. It’s almost as if there’s a fight ongoing on behalf of those who no longer are employed by Swansea City. Some sort of bitter pill lodged in their desperate throats. It’s clearly borne out of frustration due to their lack of knowledge and ability to do their job, so they are inserting this ‘changes and disorientation’ theme behind the scenes into their agenda. It’s pretty shocking really when you look at last weeks nonsense quoting Alan Sheehan way out of context, and in a very embarrassing way. There is no change nor disorientation behind the scenes, what we have is a very united and positive CEO in Tom Gorringe working directly with Adam Worth. He now heads up recruiting with an ever evolving strategy to introduce more effective, dedicated and transparent allies who not only refuse the advances of the media but work in a very ruthless environment. Worth has been close to Brett Cravatt for a few years within his role in the USA - and then earning the trust of Brett over a long period of time. He was the Swans Co-owners first choice to come in around October. That relationship no matter this big ‘mystery man nonsense’ is progressive and contains a long period of affirmation on both sides. The desire for outing Worth seems very dark to us. To want him to be a public facing person in his position is pure meddling and an attempt to upset the club when the real facade comes from the story itself. Making up a report about him and then questioning who he is ? It’s poor journalism at best. To reinforce our point if you think now who the corresponding people are to Worth, even in the Premier League, as a Swans fan we would bet you are struggling already to name them. If we were to mention Ben Strang at Brentford or Alex Davies at Leeds, maybe Christopher Civell at Manchester United or Kyle Macauley at Burnley would you genuinely say, ‘I haven’t heard of them’ ? Because that should be your answer. Despite this attempt to out Adam Worth by the Cardiff based press none of these roles are public facing, there is absolutely no need for them to be. His Linked In profile clearly pictures him, or are we dealing with such a lack of ability in the Welsh press they can’t even find him ? We will leave them to carry on digging in an attempt to unsettle the Swans, we did warn our readers throughout the summer, these people are not to be trusted. They take what they can and ignorantly refuse to acknowledge numerous websites. There are journalists out there who make out they are on a certain reporters side who apparently writes on the Swans, and within minutes they are on the blower telling us everything he said. We know the game, it’s about column inches. In this case it isn’t ruthless it’s just plain stupidity. Ruthless is Brett Cravatt, and we all now from recent events how ruthless he can be. And long may that continue. These people don’t care about our club especially when they have no allegiance to it at all, in fact none whatsoever. And here it is out in the open again. In print offering a story that means nothing and then using Adam Worth as their sword to attack the club with. The Swans need to act appropriately as the menace of Westgate Street (now Park Street) is never far away. Plotting, planning and destabilising. And as many know that’s all they have ever done. A leopard never changes its spots. As does the leopard that is currently filling their ears as they desperately search for anything at all they can twist into a story. The club are well aware of it, and most of the Swans support know as well. A frosty reception at Thursdays Alan Sheehan pre match interview awaits, we can assure you. We don’t miss much.
