If you ever listed a Dale side made up of the most forgettable players to have worn the Dale shirt, then Pemberton will surely be in it.

It would not be unfair to say that
Pemberton's time at Rochdale was largely forgettable. For near enough as
soon as he was brought into the side, his time with the club was over
through injury.
He was brought in by a returning Steve Parkin to bolster left hand side of
the team following a two game suspension to Mike Simpkins, and went
straight into the team for the first ever trip to Yeovil. Little was known
about the former Oldham player except that he had a girlfriend who was in
some celebrity reality sub Pop Idol band who happened to have a number one
at some stage in the past.
He came from Stockport on a one month loan deal after a career which had
seen him stack up a number of former clubs. He was a vital member of the
Mansfield Town side which had won promotion a couple of years earlier, so
his pedigree in this division was proven.
However, that game proved to be his last game for the club, as he
sustained a back injury during the game which prevented any further first
team action during his one month spell. His performance in that game was
pretty unremarkable, with the odd nice pass, but mostly anonymous.
The back injury received in the Yeovil game meant that he returned to
Stockport as a member of the exclusive one game club, and in all honesty,
no one ever really noticed that he had gone back. | | |
